Wanna know more. Her life grew bleak and she deserted it for the freedom of drifting through the night, apparently with damning collateral damage. A nun who
forsook her vows? A mom who Susan Smithed her offspring? A wife who cheated on a saint? Aw, just muttering. Excellent images and rhymes.

Thank you for the excellent rating and sharing these observations. The dark lady is so steeped in mystery and obscurity, it was hard to fathom just what her background was. You obviously have used your imagination to ponder it.

This was a pleasant poem to read. The rhyme and flow were smooth. Hiw many "dark" ladies or men do we carry with us? The things we hope nobody ever sees. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

I just love Shifting Shadows. Poems of Darkness, and your poem is a nice addition. I like the presentation, is stunning. The well chosen words evoke an eerie feeling of an old legend. I love horror, that is why I like Dean so much. lol I think you did a great job with your poem.
