Beautiful piece that you walked me through. The woods are my favorite place so this one was a winner for me even if on subject alone. It brought back some very fond memories.

A beautifully written poem with a good flow and rhyme to it. The misty picture adds some mystery to the poetry. Great poem and great job. I really liked your poem.

I can definitely see how your photograph inspires such creative thought for this work. Your poem is very fluid and sparks one's imagination and curiosity. I enjoyed it very much. Very well constructed. I also appreciate your notes on the meaning and origin of the word "pagan". I learned something. Good luck in all of your writing endeavors! :)

Fabulous poetry, Tom--simply outstanding! Were you aware that I have more of your poetry bookmarked than any other of the many wonderful poets who grace the pages of this website with their talent? It's true, I do.
This was exceptionally well done--stark, eerie, and quite vivid imagery, perfect rhyme, cadence and flow, and unique formatting. The only problem I have with reading this is a used my very last six star rating on the post just prior to reading this. If I'd had one, it would certainly be yours!
Great work, Tom. I'm adding this to your bookmarked totals, my talented friend.

I can see why you thought that of this pathway through the woods, it does look ancient and would look very foreboding at night. What a delightful picture and poem, perfect partnership as usual, my talented friend. :) Sandra xxx

Your poem carried your message well setting forth the mystery of the path with the dual meaning of the word "pagan." The use of rhyme in places is excellent. Excellent work.

I'm certainly not going there alone---too creepy. A well-written poem that brings the reader onto that treacherous path.
Well done, Tom.

I like this poem very much, Tom, as I do most of your work. It may be one of my favorites...
It is a bit bewitching, and it's subject matter leaves a lot with the reader...which is very nice!

Nicely done, Treischel. More in this message than meets the eye. Cleverly written. Good to see you letting loose.I didn't need to check your notes t5o see that this was not the structured variant of which you are a master.
Keep writing, my friend.
My best wishes,
RG

Thank you for teaching us the derivation of "pagan" and sharing the wonderful photograph that inspired this work. I admired your choice of the free style form with your rhymes and use of alliteration. Cheers- Joan
