Ha, great ghost story here, Mikey. I love the infusion of humour as it advances the story nicely and I also just love humour.
Couple of missing commas,
It's getting' dark and cold.
Linda began, (.) Oh, make a space for me to sing, of thee I do beseech". Punctuation junction
Home hell? (!)
"Perhaps, I haven't made myself clear" (,") Eleanor gazed deeply into Linda's eyes and whispered", (,") take me home now.
"My pleasure" (,") she said, and truth be told, it was.
All the best wishes to you in the contest. I always relish a well told ghost story, especially one that may possibly result in mayhem and bloodshed on date night. :-)

This is certainly a good entry to this contest. I found nothing to crit but...I don't crit very well...lol.

This is really riveting! I was engaged from the beginning to the end! You've always had a knack for dialogue, and this gift continues in the story. The story itself was original. However, I didn't "get" the last line. How does the fact that it's date night fit in? Are the spirits going to be friends with or without benefits? I'm always glad to be able to read one of your stories, and I wish you luck. I think you have a great chance to win (but maybe rethink that last line....)Caroline
