Congratulations for winning the free verse contest. Your first stanza vividly establishes the scene and the mood with its detailed description. I was pleased that your prayer was answered in the positive. Here's to peace and serenity- Joan

Pierre, this is so much more than a prayer. It's more like your pilgrimage with prayer and those you hold with resentment. For me, your pilgrimage is vital to my appreciation for the prayers you invoke. They truly are prayers of a person who knows the spirit of recovery. Thank you for steering me to this post. -Bill

Resentments can fester and rob serenity. Praying for someone every day really will remove resentments forever. thx for reading):

Hello Pierre,
I came to your profile page and found this... was in a booth... interesting. ;)
And it's a lament of sorts, to your god,
for freedom of anger and resentment...
sometimes I suppose people are filled with those.
Especially if you feel they have wronged you...
I felt that you worded this just as you might
if praying... (I've no idea, as I am not there),
yet it seems to me to be...
it's beautifully laid out, and the artwork is
gorgeous...
I feel such pain and discord with yourself in this..
but then, why not... it's poetry, and pain... put into one.
I enjoyed your entry... and I've read a couple of your poems
I wish you well in this contest.
you have my vote. ;)

This is an excellent prayer, in free verse.
Here are a couple of little spelling nits:
Line 1: "stain glass" (STAINED")
Line 3: "chrystal" (CRYSTAL)
Line 7: "I knell" (KNEEL)
Good luck to you in the contest.

Thank you so much for your review. I have corrected my mistakes that you pointed out to me. I usually count on spell check as I go along. Ha. Unfortunately the misspelled words were also words
reply by Jeanie Mercer on 20-Sep-2015
Yeah, that's funny about spell check. It doesn't really always know how to spell!

Your faith is admirable. I like the form you have taken.
Sometimes your resentment is because others have betrayed you? Or maybe they are taking over your life or things? My resentment is lies told to me years ago by people living near to me. Perhaps seeking God in this instance is not the answer but an escapement from reality.
Escaping reality doesn't last very long. It always comes back to you later.

Thank you for reading the poem and commenting. Thank you also for the six stars!! I have some pretty serious resentments as well. I try hard to find any fault of mine in the situation no matter how small. If I can do this, which I have been able to do, then I find it much easier to forgive someone. My part may only be 1%
reply by JanPerry on 21-Sep-2015
wow 1% is rare. You must have done something wrong. I find my part is 10%. You have to take into consideration the male ego or female ego aswell.
