I can relate to your words, my father served three years of combat in WII, he passed away in 2005 at age 86., Your poem keeps your uncle alive in memory and reminds us of the service he gave , like so many others in WII. Excellent poetic form.

He was a great man and gave us democracy. Your admiration of this great hero is reflected in this poem, but he is one of the few who survived. The family must be proud of him and rightly so. Well done, Tom.
