Retirement sounds good. You are right, cats are much easier than relatives. It is great your daughter received a promotion and was making good money, it is a long shot in Hollywood, so many try to make it in showbiz.

She gave up on showbiz but her husband at 45 still pursues his dream. Translation: paychecks are few and far between for him.

hi, i have said before, and now again, i am really enjoying your story. You write as if i am there. What a pain about the car, and what a stroke of good fortune that the blue book pricee was so good.

Yes, Lady Luck was with me that week. You compliment means a lot to me, pad. How is the house renovation going?
-
hi...ah the house...ever soemthing new, if it was a sitcom it would run for at leasst 10 full seasons:-) I will have a friend visit me for two weeks in Oct---when she had a house we did a lot of work on it together---so she comes to return the favour...she has also affered an interest free loan to get the drainage on the back wall put in...gawd, i am not sure i can face the diggers adn hassle...nor can i face the dampness ond continued damage...
but, i love this place...and i am finding time to write in the quiet...so the balance seems to be working...
thanks for asking, sorry to give you a page full about it:-)
How is your fella? I always bring you both to mind in my meditations.

Appreciate the update. I hate having workmen in my house. Outside I can deal with it. Frank's memory continues to go down little by little. I have to repeat everything at least five times! Right now, I concerned about his fatigue, which he blames on old age (he's 77) I told the doctor to test him for low testatorone (sp?) which can cause lethargy. His was 89!!! Should be 250 at the minimum. So the endocrinologist is running more blood tests. It could be a thyroid problem. A month before we find out anything. Thanks for asking. I'm doing okay, a little stressed out sometimes.

Hi Shari,
It seems you never have a dull moment in your life. Too bad you had to move before you were ready, but wonderful that you were able to get the price you wanted.
9/11 was an odd day. We had t.v. On in the break room. I remember they kept showing the same thing over and over. It was hard to get people to work as they were so engrossed.
I am so glad you were alright after the car wreck and that it all worked out.
Although this seems like the time of life that things should get easier, I bet you have Pitney coming.
I like your engaging style of writing. You make your life sound exciting.

What a wonderful compliment, Debi. The real exciting stuff is censored. LOL

This moved the story along nicely, I liked the way you described your sister when the two of you got together, but I can't believe you made the kid do school work during the attack, didn't they send everyone home?

No, life went on as usual. It affected the north not the south.
Joann, I was clueless about how serious this was, I'm embarrassed to admit.

Thats ok, if the news didnt cover it, how could you, but it was something that still arises fear, sadness and mourning in New Yorkers.

I enjoyed your chapter, Shari, but I do miss the details you explained in the previous chapters. For instance, I'd like to have read more about your grandson and your response to having him in your life...maybe explain what the déjà vu was when you held him. Do you explain further your feelings on retiring and leaving teacher in an upcoming ing chapter? A couple of thinks to look at...
America collided with the Far East (Isn't it the Middle East?)
(Did you regret not letting the students watch the TV of the attack? What about you?)
she picked the day for a Cesarean birth (Why did she have a C-section and usually the doctor determines the date of the surgery)
(S)social (S)security payouts(benefits?)
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Whoops! Middle East it is. Told you I was clueless. Yes, I do regret not letting students see it, but we were always pressed for time on the research papers. They would see it played over and over again on TV anyway. As for the C-section, Joanne just wanted to plan the baby as a present for his Dad. Alex's birthday is two days before Chris's. It's nuts, I know! To plan a birth is messing with his karma as I'm concerned. Sigh...

Ya, definitely quite an adventure. The car worked out in your favor though, possibly a little karmic action going on there, eh? Another well written chapter in the adventures of a well lived life. And it doesn't even involve arrests, or sex-change operations. Good stuff there, Spitfire.

Yeap, it's really pretty ordinary. The trick is in the telling.
Of course, always dramatic to me.

A lot has happened since your mom lived with you, and this chapter touches on a lot of years. Seems like we know your life very well now. Mine is unprintable... and mostly boring except for the censored part. You are brave to share your life in writing! :)

There's a lot of personal stuff that I can't reveal either. LOL
If I decide to self-publish this, I'd change names and maybe turn it into a novel using third person.

I am enjoying your continuing saga, Shari. I too claimed my first social security check as soon as the clock ticked 62.
I also agree that pets are a lot less hassle than kids. Glad you weren't hurt in the wreck and that it ended up being a blessing in disguise. ....except for Carlos. 8-)

Thanks ever so much for the exceptional rating, BG and for your input on the incidents that happened.

Wow! Drama as you wind down from your celebrated school life. A written off car. Who would have thought it, but talk about a winner. Instead of getting $2500 you get double that for a crumpled car which couldn't be repaired. Poor Carlos, but rich you.
Now for a new start over, eh? New house in new location.
Sad about Bobbie, though. Perhaps you sister could up her visits? Not likely, I suppose.
Well done.

Interesting story of the events of your life. Family relationships always fluctuate and always cause concern. I thought that was good about the car, the book value you got for it, good job you were not hurt. Well narrated and an enjoyable read. faye

Thanks, Faye, for dropping in. I still have two issues to resolve before closing the book.
