Most times when a parent tries to force their child to be what they want them to grow up to be this is the result. The experiment is a complete failure. Story tells this tale very nicely indeed. "learnt" should be "learned".

    Thanks for the comment. the word 'Learnt' is a British past tense of learn,-not used in US but used in all former colonies also. Learned is used as adjective for wise or educated person(Webster's Dictionary ). It doesn't get identified as misspelled word on MS Word. I missed that one. The real reason for sending that child on that path is revealed in the last chapter.

Well written and different. It was a clear view down the life of someone who was given a path, not that chose one. I felt for the boy. Your story brought him to life and made him seem real.
It was well crafted. There were a few errors I noticed, mostly missing words that can be easily over looked such as from 7th paragraph:
turned seventeen he had memorized (the) Bible and all other associated
I could insert those as I read so it really didn't slow me down. Just thought I would point it out.
