The scene is very tranquil. It is easy to picture the Loons
as they swim and dive, then pop up again in another
area of the pond. Vivid images and a beautiful song in
it's very structure. Thank you for sharing this writing
style...

An alouette ... I remember singing the song in rounds as a youngster, and then with my elementary school French class.

How you pick and adhere to an unusual and sometimes elaborate rhyme scheme fascinates me Tom.

Another nice one from your nature-loving pen. I enjoyed it, sir!

Thank you for the multifaceted wonders of this work, the nature photography, the verse, the poetry and information, all make me feel part of a bird watching scene again. I don't know whether it is the same species, but it looks a bit similar and acts as what I would call a Grebe here. Certainly, you capture it, and the thrill of wondering, where the next pop-up will be, or if you will ever know, or linger longer. Mm! Can smell the fresh air, and tomorrow I leave the city for two weeks. Thanks for opening that door, and all, Maureen*&*

Thnx Maureen &, have a great trip. It is related to a grebe, but they are seperate species.

A pleasant rhyme form that lends itself well to this sort ort of two part description, first their song then their habits in their habitat. They sound like a lovely bird to listen to .

Oh, we don't have any loons around here. I'd love to see and hear them. Through your poetry and photography though I can.

Hi Tom,
I like loons also.. they make a lovely sound...
this is a neat form... and the rhymes of
echoing/ sing was particularly cool... it was so
subtle I had to go back and find what its partner was. lol
Loved this... quite sweet... great photo
looks like a real one! (Suppose it was once, eh?) yikes!

They are absolutely one of my favorite birds. You did a good job on your 'alouette' poem. What you say about the loon is true and don't you just love their call? They are fun to watch and to listen to. Nice picture too. Have a nice day! Nancy

A well written poem, I can hear the loon sing it's tune with their distinctive song. I can see them dive into the water and wait for them to pop up again.
Excellent photo, Would have never known it is a stuffed animal, if it was not mentioned.
