The poem, or dual sonnet, as you've described it, 'Fall, The Best', is suberb in its reading and mind-blowing in its explanation of format. Whew! was all I could think when contemplating emulating such a work. You include all the merry sights of that season and the beauty of the scene is not distorted by any noticeable attempt to force words into a scheme. Really enjoyable. V6

This is an excellent poem that in imagery and vivid words describes why so many adore this glorious season of delicious senses and bright colour. The scene is well set and you've not forgotten the humble squirrel and the wild geese in your poetic portrait. Well done, Tom.

With its complex rhyme schemes and long, hexametric lines this takes some getting used to but of course a great deal of information can be imparted in those hexameters. Each stanza looks in a different way at the magic of the fall. The first considers the vegetation and the colours. In the second the interaction with humans and the effect of light. In the third the animals prepare for what is coming next and this consideration of a future season of privation might even be considered a form of volta, while the couplet closes with a couple of valedectory lines that reach a logical conclusion. Very effectively written.

Thank you Pantygynt for an excellent assessment. You captured my intent perfectly. I did intend the change from scene to activity a mild Volta.

Master of the sonnets. A beautiful work, my favourite season captured in picture and in words. It is a real masterpiece in both ways.

Oh, my dear -- I like your poem, but MUST disagree! It's spring! Spring! SPRING! When everything comes out of hibernation and begins to rejoice again! (Including ME!) *smile*

Lovely work!

Lovely picture, Autumn is very nice, but I prefer the Spring. Whatever the season I like to adapt to the changing scene. Vivid imagery and nice descriptions and excellent rhyming. Faye
