A great poem for another great poet. You did a wonderful tribute for this soulful man. A creative entry for this contest. The arrangement of your words are expressive. Also the pairing with the artwork fits well. Thanks for sharing this piece.
Wishing you all the best...

This is good Clockwise. I love his work and was sad to see him go. I have always loved the acrostic style of poetry. I applaud your sense of style and rhyme. Good luck and well done you! xoxo Kiwi

What a lovely poem! Cohen is one of my favourite singers and I've written a short piece about him today as well.
I like your reference to his nicotine voice and to hummingbirds.
Thanks for sharing.

A touching tribute to a internationally renowned and respected man. The verses in this acrostic are all pertinent to his life and work. They are artfully chosen, and maintain a smooth beat throughout. Very well done.

Hello, Clockwise...
I truly enjoyed the entirety of this well-composed rhyming poem honoring Leonard Cohen.
He was an amazing poet, songwriter and performer, and his music spanned over fifty years.
His talents and presence will be truly missed.
Of all the wonderfully well rhymed passages in this tribute, I enjoyed the following the most. For me, it encapsulated brilliantly what Mr. Cohen and his work were all about:
Overwhelm like silence during the war,
Nursing the Unified Hearts of the poor.
Asking for hands to hold on to, and thus,
Recruiting the Beautiful Losers like us.
Despite all its flaws, his nicotine voice,
Calls forth the forsaken to weep and rejoice....

I like the photo you choose to go with this poem
There is something about his eyes it's saying , yet holding back a lot.
I love how your words flow.

Yes, Leonard Cohen is one of my favorites, too, ever since I accidentally came across the video of his performance in England of "Dance Me to the End of Love" (2009). That song is one of the greatest love ballads ever written. Your acrostic is a nice tribute to him, and the picture captures his soul-searching essence. Well done.

I had to read this! I'm so pleased you did justice to
Our prophet and guru grand master of words,
I could pick out other lines, but I want to leave them in one piece, perfect and beautiful, as you wrote them.
This is superb. I wish I hadn't run out of sixes.
All the best,
Jane
