A wonderfully descriptive villanelle poem.
I enjoyed the description and choice of repeated lines for best effect.
As spring arrives in just two days time(yeah!) I look forward to some lovely blooms too.
Cleverly crafted in perfect Villanelle format and a stunning image choice.

Wait a minute.. If there is no specific meter requirement, why did I just bust my ass three weeks ago writing a damn villanelle in iambic pentameter (in my mind, the most dreaded of all meter) :(

Thank you Cat. The creator of the contest made it a requirement. Of course, iambic pentameter is very lovely, it requires a great deal discipline. I'm sure you hated it.

An excellent subject this for a villanelle for the salient features of the flower or the use to which they are to be put can be emphasised by the repeated lines as you have done here.

Great work. The picture you sketch with your poem is perfectly, it feels I can just stretch out my hand to touch thid flower of fire. Your photo is also perfect. I never saw this flower before.
