It is amazing the stories we observe just by being observant. This is an interesting poem which would make a good story. Never be afraid to use the same inspiration for more than one piece of writing. Thank you for sharing!

I'm afraid I missed something. There is a cat and a dog, but I got the feeling that the love was for the writer and not for each other. But, the last stanza seems to give a different story. Kind captivity, I thought was just sleeping in a cage at night. But, then you called the dog imprisoned. I was reminded of my sister with a cat and a dog. Sorry, I confused.

Maybe a little more work could clear up this write. Happy outside the confusion some intents of this work touched. Thanking you for generous rate and inspiring thoughts.

First of all I didn't like pur-fect. If you want to accentuate purr, you could say purr-fect. At least we get the purr sound coming in.
"a metal bell crisp ring". It seems the adjectives are in the incorrect order here.
The crisp ring of a metal bell? Maybe. "myself night chilled by cold?" again the adjectives are in the wrong order. Good English must be maintained, even if you are trying to be creative. Creativity still has to make sense in this world.

What an utterly sad poem of restricted love between different species. Your poem is quite different than anything I have read in a long time. I often feel sorry for creatures stuck in the house, watching out the window as life passes by. And it is so true that cats like to tease dogs. We have both cats and dogs.

Thank you for a unique read.

Blessings to you, Linda

I had to sort of smile as I went down the page...
knowing that this little minx outside the fence was
playing hard to get and most likely just being
a little b*tch to this poor guy... :(
lol
sounds JUST like a cat! :(
(that's why I only own dogs)
Seriously .LOL
well played, I enjoyed the word play
that led me down the page...
and i was hooked...
line and sinker.
;)
well done
Cat (who likes dogs) ;)

This such a good read, and believable too. I can really feel for the dog, being the dog person that I am. This story you told was a smooth ride. Thanks for that.

I do love how you show it through the eyes of the dog. The description of that cat striding towards him is wonderful. I love the way you tell this story. Great job.
