HI Roy ...

You and your magic pen have done it again! I enjoy how you profess your faith and it's driving force in your life ... yet you are not preachy. Your gentleness and sincerity are so much more invigorating than that hyped-up guy on TV in a $2,000.00 Armani suit and odd hair begging for money.

You bring hone the message in a way that transcends such indignity and leaves us with that which is most important ... a demonstration of real-life faith and the true rewards it brings.

Another masterpiece! Where's a "sixer" when I need one? God Bless ...

Alan

"To gain this world but lose my soul..." - so true! Sadly, so easy to do, too, I think, with all the temptation of worldly things...your poetry is always so inspiring, my friend, and so very beautiful!

Considering the fact that it is easier for a camel to squeeze through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God. Why because that came would be the only thing trying to enter the eye of that needle. A rich man would be trying to drage his houses, his cars, all his possessions and all his false friends into the kingdom and there is no room for them there. LOL. Wonderfully uplifting poem my friend.

This poem is beautiful, Roy. Perfect in its rhyme and rhythm and its message clear and a good reminder to us all. Well done; an enjoyable read. Linda

Nice rendition here. Shedding oneself of what is one can see which is a crave for worldly things; and taken a decision to forego the unprofitable things and pursue the heavenly things with its glorious gains which are more enduring. I love the way you sequenced this poem from one stanza to the other. I love stanza four the most.

Great lesson within you poem. We have all stumbled and fallen in our youth, learnt from our mistakes (hopefully.) Some continue to make mistakes because they don't listen to the still, small voice within. Well done.

True words, neatly arranged in fine meter and rhyme. There were several lines in this wise poem that stood out for me:
"My eyes grow dim; not so my sight" is especially meaningful and deep, as well as, "Within my heart my hope's content." And I thought the last line was the perfect ending for this philosophical/spiritual poem: "It's only love that makes one whole." That is the ultimate answer, the supreme ending. I really enjoyed this poem, though I wondered why there was so little punctuation. I think you might consider a bit more here and there, for ease of understanding. But I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Oh yes I love your message in this poem my friend. Looking at life both good and bad, and realizing the walk of life is so much better with God there.

Nice sentiments, well woven through your poem. I wouldn't like to be 20 again, either. But have my 20y old body with my present mind and past experiences, that wouldn't be so bad at all. :) Have a great weekend.
