Well, well, well my metaphorical marvel. Good to see you are still producing thought evoking poems.
Some beautiful lines in this.... I particularly liked the 4th stanza my friend.
Keep on keeping on Michael, love Jaq :) xxx

This is a spectacular poem, Michael!
"sudden vulnerability is a straw house of strength"--Wow! What an extraordinary use of metaphoric phrases!
"Taos hums New Mexico's ghost music
dead wind inexplicable
if you listen closely you can hear almost"--so hauntingly beautiful!
Such a strong, poignant poem.
Hugs

I really like your poem, ancient answers on the wind that are missed in the now. I really like the stanza with a straw house of strength- an illusive strength that just takes some wolf breath to blow down, in this case the disconnected Babel of modern times. Just a few suggestions- " your never happen"- your never happening and you can hear almost- you can almost hear... excellent poem.

Babel was marvel of its time...the tower...so impressive in reach...even God worried. -smile- Hi Ed...I asked somebody what were some of the world most extraordinary things...and listed some them in the poem. My writing has evolved...its now usually just an emptying of this moments thoughts. this ...I guess is a guy listening to the hum....of his extraordinary life and wondering about the almost and should have beens, knowing through experience and faith there will be a tomorrow with all that she brings...-smile- thank you Bro...love Michael

Our Sojourn~by reconciled
Taos sings old songs to gain advice from his elders. Vulnerability is a straw house of strength with windows of shattered souls.
Your poem is very esoteric and hard to understand.

Hi,
I don't know Mexico to comment about it in your poem. But I liked how you linked Mexico, with a ghost music and a dead wind. It brings a sense of nostalgia and magic.
I also liked the contrast of words you used when conveying your message, such as:sudden vulnerability is a straw house of strength.

Taos New Mexico...is in the United States. There is heard a hum, constant and inexplicable. No one has been able to figure its origin. I thought it quite extraordinary...but I find myself where no one else looks...hah...thank you Sweetheart...good to see you...love Michael

More stars than Iceland in the picture you selected, but we are amazed by the geysers and waterfalls! I admired your tercets and the contradiction in "straw house of strength". Here's to "New Mexico's ghost music"! Cheers- Joan, from Reykjavik

I really don't get this one, Michael. I don't see what the picture is. Your poem is a free verse alright but covers quite a lot of ground. I don't know anything about New Mexico or what they do.

This poem is inspiring in its ability to make us reflect on the past and ponder our future. To me it includes and element of hope and a certain level of warning about our own mortality. The photo offers great hope for whats possible and great solitude.
Beautifully written.

Comment from Jeanie Mercer
I particularly like these lines in the first and last stanzas of this poem: "ancient as what was almost said" . . . "if you listen closely you can hear tomorrow."
These are wonderful descriptions of "New Mexico's ghost music": thoughtful, eerie, and expressive. Otherwise the whole thing is a rather interesting stream of consciousness. Best regards, Jeanie Mercer
