Ha Some like it hot !!! Glad you do ML lol Believe it or not there are many homes with fireplaces here..We live at 2,000 ft and it does not call for any heat or air conditioning either..But many live 3,000+ ft up and yes it does get cold at night So a fireplace is a delight Hehehe look I made a rhyme

This guy seems to promise a lot (I'll change for you/no more drifting), yet I can't fully believe him! Too smooth talking, too many of the right words, tender but self-centered. Oh what a difference between "you're what I am longing for. " (full stop) and "You're what I am longing for on this (...) rainy night". Also, I am wondering is the irregular number of syllables is an intentional tool to portray his personality. I found myself longing for some personal depth about him or more signs that he is attuning to her. Interesting piece! Thank you for sharing.
Oh, and there's a typo in the last stanza (fires/fire's)
