This is sad and brings up so many emotions. I often wonder with people living longer if the quality of life suffers. This is a good little story. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

This story meets the max 60 word count and touches on a sad subject--getting older and the loss of mental faculty that goes with that. That said, I think the "weeping" in the last sentence is a bit overdone and feels stilted. Otherwise, though, it is a nice compact narrative.
