Hi Brett. This is quite a story. Dare I say that I enjoyed reading it? Gulp! Easy reading. Great descriptions of the old homestead, crops, "go all animal lover on me." Well done. Marilyn/BeasPeas

Well this is certainly a crop I did not expect. No wonder he keeps his garden way off the beaten path. Another nightmare for certain. This one may need a PG-13 rating. I'm not certain the little ones could handle this, especially before bed.

This great, Brett.
I loved the hayseed way of the storyteller as he explains the farm and the delights of his stock and his love for the harvester. His concern for the dog's mental and physical health just about puts you in tears. And that, oh, so politically correct apology to the Animal Rights Organisation hardly prepares you for the grisly details he's about to expose. Harvests heads for the town sheriff so he can clean up the town...yeah, very good. Ironic that it takes a couple of mass murderers to clean up a town. But, hey, too much moral talk might sour a good horror story and this is a beauty.

Hi, Brett...

_ Goodness, we drove John Deere and Allis Chalmers tractors, so we didn't have the problem with heads popping up like your buddy did with his harvester! LOL.
_ Great story told with easy. A smooth read.

Cheers & Blessings

Thanks for your comments and support. Appreciate them. Yes, he likes harvesting his crop of prisoners. Something about seeing heads roll that just makes his day complete.

This was an outstanding read, very well paced and very informative. Painted a very clear picture and told an entire story as it should. Very well done.

Phew, I'm certainly glad you put that note in the authors notes section. Had me worrying.

Odd story for me. I'm not normally a "horror" reader, but it was effective.

Nicely done. Contest entry? John

Some aggressive farming going on here. I guess your dog wasn't going to play Parcheesi with a raccoon. Sounds like everyone's having a good day.

Hi Brett,

I think you may be a little off the mark with this one. I know that the old Grimm's tales were gruesome but they have been severely watered down these days, for good reason. In this day and age this wouldn't fly for children.

The piece is well written and engaging, and does give a nice chill factor but I am not sure about the target audience.

And why would this not be suitable for children? Appreciate your comments as always.

I think the deliberate burying and decapitation is stretching it for small children.

G'day Brett. Another ripper mate so to speak. Very well written as always and again you had me with the twist. I thought the pride and joy garden was going to be dope or some such smoking product and I had to laugh after the burying them up to their necks LOL. Well done mate, very entertaining once again. No corrections needed that I spotted. Cheers Fez

Hello Brett, I like your story about this unusual farmer. I am not sure I understand. I think he is bury people up to their neck and cutting their heads with his tractor? Did I get that right? I love creepy stories and this one is pretty creepy. Good job!
