Excellent artwork by the lovely Sue Netbery, Anonymous Author. Your poem speaks of the sad state of our world today, I feel. Terrorist organizations like ISIS beheading innocents. Sharia Law prevalent in many Muslim countries, a doctrine which preys on women and children. Horrible happenings.

If you like surrealist work, here's some more artwork by Ms. Netbery titled, "A Peace of Me."

Good luck in your contest. ~Dean

Thank you Dean for reading and ,rating and reviewing my entry for this contest. I thought the artwork was reflective of what I tried to portray. A sad state we are all in at the moment. Seems like everyday there is another horrible massacre. Appreciate your time.

Hello author, A sad poem of truth that speaks volume in only eight syllable.

Of note:
Lives taken by the MAD

Thank you sweetwoodjax, for your great review and comments and good wishes for the contest. I had considered this category, but unsure if this was the correct one. I hope this also reflects these world wide senseless acts of killing . America seems to have it's fair share also and it makes me very sad to read or hear about these events happening. With thanks

Your 1/6/1 poem is good, I like the picture and colors that you chose. Your syllable count is right. The three lines make sense together.

Hi Mystery Poet

Fantastic image. I would suggest the social commentary and philosophy category.

You've made quite a poignant statement here. Few words, loads of emotion and fulfilled the prompt requirements to a tee. I like this the best and feel your poem will be a contender for high placement. I wish you the best of luck. Warm Regards - Lovinia xoxo

Hi Lovinia, Thanks for reading and review with such lovely comments for this poem . I was hoping a few words would have an impact and glad you found it so. I worry about our future and saddened every time I hear of another senseless act of human slaughter. With much appreciation.

Excellent 1-6-1 poem! You said so much with so few words, and all three lines rhyme as well! One of the most difficult types of poems to write, I believe. You made me feel, and that's what good poetry does. PERFECT picture to go with your piece!

This is a difficult task, to say something worth reading in eight syllables
You have succeeded very well
Exact syllable count
Very good choice of rhyming words
Sad indeed, lives taken so senselessly.
Excellent photograph to poem match
Maybe the answer is hidden in that earthly countenance.
Well done

Hi there,

This is a pretty powerful message displayed in this 1-6-1 poem.

Great art work to compliment the piece, without overpowering the words.

Good luck in the contest.

Terrorism seems to be one of the worst happening things going on these days. Take a real close look at South Carolina for instance. This well written 1-6-1 clearly depicts this theme and should be a good contest entry. Well done.
