A nice respite with everything going well for a change. But drama cannot be far away. It looks like your daughter still reaches for her mom when it comes to the hurts and pains that only a mom can soothe.
And then you throw in the teaser at the end.

G'day Shari (I just called you Christelle, sorry about that I need some sleep. LOL. ) This is another good chapter mate, filled with a range of ups and downs which you are so good at. It's seems to be often the case that good news and easy flowing lives get smashed all of a sudden by bad news, crazy huh? Great work again with no spags. Cheers Fez

THanks, Fez. Ups and downs are right. I see that in your story too.

You proved one of my theories about life...just when you think you have life by the tail...bam! Something happens...there is always something. You are easy to read...feel like I'm sitting across from a friend, sharing life. I have been away from FS for a few months, editing my book with Rama...I have learned so much about the craft of writing....even if I don't publish, it was worth getting a professional editor.

Missed you. Didn't know Rama was a professional editor now. Makes sense considering the wonderful help she gave in reviews.
    What book are you editing?
reply by maggieadams on 26-Jun-2015
The only book I have written...My Almost Cashmere Life...she helped me have so much more show rather than tell and so much more internal dialogue and action tags...rather than speech tags...a big difference. I am going to post my new, improved chapters one by one...I have already done prologue and Chapter 1 (even though those have now been more improved)...I think all of my FS writers should experience having a professional editor like Rama who encourages but doesn't gloss over what needs improving.

sorry the dog died but if it got her to come to you for comfort, it was a good thing in hindsite, he was probably old. The class seemed interesting and fun.

Thanks, joann. Bugsy was young by doggy standards I guess. I never dreamed my daughter would fall for a dog. She was scared to death of them when growing up.

Things are getting back to normal after the big excitement and trauma of the wedding. You offer us some interesting insights into your personal life. It takes the death of a much loved pet to bring you and Nichole together again.
The story remains interesting, urging us to keep reading. The story teller shows her skills yet again.
Warm regards, Wendy.

This is great, I like your advice to your daughter about the loss of her dog, she is now part pug. Your teaching job sounds fabulous and what fun teaching advance placement with motivated students. This appears to be a fairly happy time in your life.

Appreciate your noting the remark on the pug. Yes, my job was fabulous, but nothing lasts forever.

I envy you, getting to teach kids who want to learn and have insight. Must have been nice. My kids aren't all that bad, but putting forth good effort is not one of their attributes. They do surprise me from time to time, and that makes each year worth while. I can tell from your description and sense of satisfaction you convey that you did enjoy your last years. It will likely get harder for me, especially when for the last two years the BOE has been cutting teaching positions. Those brainiacs even tried to cut a math and a social studies position. Funny thing is they keep adding titled positions at the board office and oddly enough they dug up an Italian teacher. Wonder where they found that one and how they can even justify it with all the cuts.

I didn't think your relationship with your daughter was in all that bad of shape. Time and distance work in your favor in some of these situations. Once again you foreshadow trouble ahead. Sorry about the loss of the fur baby. I know how hard it is. Just yesterday I found myself blubbing over the loss of my baby girl. I lost her almost two years ago. And I still cry from time to time. Probably because she was the only creature that really ever loved me. She chose me to be her meowmy. She's the one that blew in with a hurricane one dark and stormy Florida night.

Good episode, especially your joy for teaching your juniors. found no nits...

Administration hasn't a clue. They should be in the classroom for six weeks! Please write about your kitten who came in with a hurricane. I'd love to hear how you nurtured her.

All Advanced Placement classes! That must have been like a dream come true. Students who actually want to learn. I was amused by Dee searching the Web for rich single men. It sounds like you are getting back on track with Nicole, too, although she might have acknowledged that you had justification in feeling as you did about your treatment at the wedding. It is sad to lose a dog. Telephoning you with the news shows that she still turns to her mother in times of sadness. Very interesting presentation. judi

Thanks, judi. You always pick up on everything that's important.
What happens to Dee later on is sad but hilarious. :-)

Hi, Spitfire. You're welcome. If it was the internet date, I can imagine things wouldn't go too well. judi

A great chapter, Shari. Sounds like your job promotion made a huge difference in your life and made your abilities as a teacher shine. I'm glad your daughter reached out to you for comfort, as I would bet Jeff was too into his own sorrow to offer any comfort to your daughter. Good ending hook.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Spags corrected, thanks very much. What's coming up next is worse than the wedding!
