I like this a lot. It's really a raw-energy type of poem, and it's very well done. I think you hit the nail on the head about what we do with our hideous thoughts. I think we all need to learn to talk better about what's in our heads.

Well hello Vance dear,
So true it is so often we shelve in our mind closets these wicked boxes holding
prejudice, vengeance, guilt and fear and lock them in as if we are hostage to
them instead of vice versa. We can chase them out by the free will act of
just 'shut the damn door' as you so well state. I like the way you approached
this as a stealthy discovery sneaking into one's mind and finally confronting
it! offering instead to lock that evil door. Replacing it with a 'gold pass of God's
Love' with his key to keep that door open! Exposing the shame, yet offering
a better solution and reprieve! Blend of psychological and spiritual perfectly!
Great write, thanks for sharing! Love your mind and spirituality!
Gratefully with hugs and blessings, Ronni

Favorite verse: The one labelled Vengeance
Was covered in blood
On another was written
"I hate you".. In MUD

My face may be mud. To capture the light
Of thoughts that will guide you
Always to the Lord ... and then....
To Fanstory....and Write!

Another dandy. Liked and enjoyed it very much. Request more, shipmate. Humor. wackydo

Ah, my friend, if it were only so simple.

You're right--the mind--each mind--is full of Pandora's boxes. And to a certain degree we have 'free will' over the things on which we dwell. But some things refused to be locked away and ignored. Some things need to be faced, sorted out, then dealt with.

Some doors can be closed. Others have to be opened--so the bad stuff can fly away.

Peace, Lee

If we keep skeletons in our closets, we'll wind up with bats in our belfries.

But you make a good point, Vance, writing is a good way to drain the power from the things which haunt us.

Hello Vance,
I like
Your thoughts to having our own free will,
or to listen to God's will. And how you use the term
(label(s)

(ex.)(( hate )) to describe the emotions of the seven you well explained by saying

Throw the key of no-love away that hinder the portal of your heart

I am so glad I read your author's notes first. Such a timely topic. I think "Shut that damn door!" Is a great way of explaining the paradox of our cluttered minds. I love the way you took two parts in it. It was so sad when you went in there and saw all those labels on the boxes. I would have cried too.

Re the labels starting with PREDUJCE first. It is a stronghold that will boomerang and hurt you.

Re the e labeled VENG ENCE. It gave me shaver's just to read it.

Ah, GUILT! That one is a ditty. It can eat away at you until you are naught but a hollow shell of a man.

FEAR? That was a biggie for me. I feared everything. Mostly people. It was such a lonely place to be. I wish someone had told me how to SHUT THAT DAMN DOOR years ago!

Re the GOLD PASS OF LOVE...NOW THAT IS SOMETHING TO SHOUT WITH JOY FOR!
Your description of it is so perfect,. I can only repeat your words here...:
"Which only you get From YOUR MAKER ABOVE, So let Him click the key That deletes all these files And replace them with ones Which bring WISDOM and LOVE (two of my favorite words in my vocabulary next to LOVE) "Then keep that door open To capture the light of thoughts that will guide you Always to THE LORD"... and then..(.HA! Tom would love that line and so do I... "and then.... To Fanstory....and Write!" Ha!

I loved reading and heading I his masterpiece of WISDOM. Thank you for sharing it. Nan

My arms are always wide open for all that love and hugs

I do not know why, but my computer seems to give me these replies over and over again,

Perhaps we are supposed to delete them after we read and respond to them?

Would sure like to know! Nan

Hey Michael: sneaking into someone's closet is definitely a risky trip but sometimes ya just gotta get to the bottom of the pond to find out why the goldfish are all ugly brown, rotted, and dyin' Vance

Great poem! Supermendous illustration.
How true it is, our minds are like doors in which we
have free will to open and enter through which ever one we choose. Many of those doors open to pleasures of sin -
you name them right "DAMN DOOR" The pleasures of sin
will eventually damn the soul to the Devil's Hell, apart
from faith in Jesus Christ.

Jerry: Bless you for this wonder gift of encouragement and enlightenment, reflecting the hoped-for engagement of the spirit that his work intended. Your feedback is truly inspirational and motivational (to keep going) with this message and keep trying to shine the light of God into the minds of all who must learn it is there to replace the Damned, with the LOVED AND BLESSED! Such as YOU are dear one! Vance

Another great poem from His Grayness! A terrific poem filled with great advice! If we could only put a stronger padlock on that door with prejudice, vengeance, guilt and fear! Can you imagine how great our relationships would be as well as our world! I really enjoyed the phrase, "needs the gold pass of love....from your Maker above"! The last five lines are a great conclusion to this nice free verse! Thanks Grayness! :)

Jesus speaks to the one who is having all this negative feelings. He promises to promises to erase all the negativity with the love He only can give, to stay focused on Him . Good message in your poem .He holds the key to our mind if we let Him. Good presentation of your write.
