I relished the way you incorporated the images that Brooke often captures in her poetry. I know she will appreciate your alternating rhymes in these quatrains as much as I did. Your "spinning sunshine to shawls" is memorable and is intensified with its alliteration. Yes, here's to her speedy recovery! -Joan

I live in Southern California too, and when I return from our cruise, I will try to contact Brooke to find out if she is ready to have visitors. Smiles- Joan

As with all the other tribute pieces for Brooke, your poem rings with sincerity of feeling for our missing 'Mother Hen.'
You did a good job of capturing the kind of images she uses so well in her own poems and the rhyme and meter was also reminiscent of her work, although I have to say it would be a real artist who could match her skill in that department.

Thank you very much. You are an expert in rhymes too and so if you say 'you did a good job' it is enough for me .No ,i am under no illusions that I am that real artist. in fact I wrote a free verse poem and then thought that since it is for the mistress of rhyme ,I should try to write in rhymes. It does not come easily to me ,I really struggle and end up with clumsy lines.Free verse is easy to write especially for some one like me for whom time is a very big issue.
