Hi there,
I really enjoyed this poem. The personification of the players is great and the imagery was fantastic throughout.
No pun intended but the flow was all good!

-I could not have written it any better that you have crafted and personified mother Earth's typical rain in a way that has culminated in a very tantrum like child only satisfies mankind, sometimes, with a few drops and then mystifies man with a deluge of torrential rains.
-Good use of enjambment which is the running on of regarding concept one stands and line to the next without a syntactical break.
-..."capturing what she can...". That's how we feel when there is a drought and we need the rain so badly that we have to, especially in California, have to savor our water to satisfy our own needs.
-Very well done. I enjoyed reading this very much because of the very tactical and in tent and distinct imagery that you have definitively described and vividly expressed throughout the writing.
-Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always.

Thank you, Alex. The drought and flooding in the U.S. are so difficult to deal with. We are on strict water restrictions where I live--two days a week only. I always appreciate your detailed reviews. Thank you so much for pointing out the imagery and personification. God bless. Debi

I plan to stop by. Brooke was good at teaching reciprocal reviewing and I have found some great writing that way. It is way past my bedtime and I have to be to work early, but when I get home tomorrow, I will stop by and check out some of your work.

Now this was so relevant and said much better than any weatherman/woman could have ever said Lady D..... California has cracked lips while Texas has much more than a sip..On the Big Island of Hawaii the last week or so it has had it share of the heavens crying but nothing like in Texas

Wow, TK, thank you so much for the wonderful six stars. I love your comments and insights about California, Texas and Hawaii.
I was taking a class from Brooke and asked her to help me with free verse. We had one class, but I learned a lot just in that time about what elements need to be included to make it work. She put me on to some great free verse classics and walked me through a couple of them. I am sure I could have learned a lot more, but at least I got her help to get started. Debi
