This is just such a beautiful tribute. How loving it is, and so well written. I obviously don't know who Brooke is but I have read quite a few poems by now dedicated to her. I am moved by it all. Ulla

Thanks very much, Ulla. Brooke (adewpearl) is considered FanStory's own Poet Laueate. I'm pleased you enjoyed reading my poetic dedication to her. I attempted to get as close to Brooke's amazing style as I could. I know how much she cherishes her dandelions. While I realize I'm nowhere close, my wish is that it will warm Brooke's heart, and extend to her the powers of healing through friendship, love and our collective prayers for a full recovery.
Thanks very much for your exemplary comments and exceptional six star rating. All are greatly appreciated, as always.

Thank you very much, Ingrid. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed reading my poetic dedication to Brooke.
She is definitely considered to be FanStory's own Poet Laureate, and justifiably so. I attempted to get as close to Brooke's amazing style as I could. I know how much she cherishes her dandelions. While I realize I'm nowhere close, my wish is that it will warm Brooke's heart, and extend to her the powers of healing through friendship, love and our collective prayers for a full recovery.

This is absolutely superb and I know it will cause dear Brooke to smile. Check with Tom and he will put this in the book for you. Others have said they had difficult too and he quickly fixed it for them.

Thanks so much, Valerie. I appreciate your kind comments concerning this poem. I have emailed Tom and asked him if he could include it in the book. I initially went to add it, and even clicked the "Add Chapter" tab in another post. But for some reason it didn't take. Hopefully he'll be able to help.
    Thanks again for reading! ~Dean :}

Hi Dean - this is a perfect and appropriate counting poem to write for Brooke - you know exactly what she will like. Such an optimistic write and every stanza has promise of new life. I laughed at your penultimate stanza when one seed stayed to 'spawn' a bit froggy, but why not. You did so well with this and kept it bright and cheerful about a flower that Brooke writes about and loves. I like your author notes too. Warm regards Dorothy x

Thanks, Dorothy. I'd hoped to lighten the "mood" a bit in that stanza, perhaps cause Brooke to smile a little. I hope it works, she is truly missed around here by all of us. I can tell you this, I worked on the poem for three, almost four days, sleeping just five hours in that span. I'm exhausted, but if it causes a smile to cross her lips, then the effort was well worth it.
Thanks again for reading, and your thoughtful comments. I truly appreciate it. ~Dean

Dean, are you mad? four days and only 5 hours sleep - what does your household think about this? Get to bed now - do as I tell you. LOL Thought you said you had a heart condition? Living like this is stupid. Be told. Dorothy xx But it is a great poem and she'll love it xx

I do, I have a myocardial infarction, and an internal defibrillator. I know I'm crazy, I've never tried to hide it, heh-heh.

Okay, the couch is calling, and CandyMan is on television...

    Nighty-night, Dorothy. :)

This is the best and if it doesn't make her smile nothing will. Just beautiful Dean and something she will love. You used your expertise well on this one. Where did you find that last picture. A thought I just had....

One final little seed
caressed by pearly dew,
Grew to be the lovely flower
I just sent to you.

This is just wonderful. Brooke will love it. :<) Nancy

Thanks so much, Nancy, and I really hope she likes it. I've been working on it for about three days now, and I tried to add it to the book (in fact, I thought I had!), but when it posted, it wasn't included for some reason.
I love that last stanza you wrote. That was lovely, but of course everything you write is lovely.
Thanks again for your six stars and glowing comments. If Brooke smiles after reading this, then it will be more than worth the effort.

Dean, this is an excellent ode to a dandelion, Brooke's favorite flower; and a fine paean to a dear friend and a fellow poet who we are all praying for. Superb animated effects you are so adept at.

I wonder why this was not included in the book of poems for Brooke; this would be a gem in that collection. I have my dandelion poem for her there; and dozens of other poets have their dedication poems in that book.

Great job, Dean.

Smiles and love, Y.

I was adding it to the book, I thought, Yelena. I clicked on a poem in that book by another author, then at the bottom, clicked the "ADD CHAPTER" tab beneath their post. I posted the poem, but when I got to the post, the book was completely gone, or in other words, it didn't put it in the book. Now, I have no way of knowing how to get this post into that book without completely wiping it out and starting all over. And I just didn't want to do that.
If you know how to get this post into your book, please let me know. It was my intention in the first place.
Thanks so much for reading, and for the exceptionally generous rating as well. I sincerely appreciate it very much...

Yes, when it comes to technology, I always ask Tom for help, and he is great!

By the way, there are 66 chapters in that book already.

Wow! Is Brooke going to be able to see them all? I hope so.
I just now emailed Tom to see what he can do. Keep your fingers crossed. :)

A huge majority of the poems feature dandelions. I believe in the power of a collective prayer, Dean, and she should get well. I am certain she will see the poem, and that would really get her well!
reply by the author on 31-May-2015
I know we're all pulling and praying for her. I really miss Brooke a lot! I'm sure all of us do.

And don't forget how many curative qualities a dandelion flower has!
reply by the author on 31-May-2015
You're absolutely right, quite a few. I refuse to kill the dandelions in my own yard. Of course, I live w-a-a-a-a-a-y out in the country in the middle of nowhere, so there's no neighbors to complain about it. :)
reply by Eternal Muse on 31-May-2015
I used to make leis of them when I was growing up in Russia.

By the way, I just created Dandelion haiku prompt.
