I like your rhyme in this. Excellent work with your counting poems. This is an excellent subject--smiles and where they went--going to an unhappy boy, a homeless man, and animals, etc. So glad one found its way to Brooke. Hopefully, the memory book will bring her some smiles. Really enjoyable. judi

You made me go "Ahhh" at the end. I do hope that last smile finds Brooke. I am sure she will enjoy this counting poem. You mention a lot of great things that a smile can do and all the lives it can touch. This is a great tribute to Brooke.

Brooke wrote many counting poems, and she is bound to love this one of the 10 smiles. Well done on this one, it is a just the tonic Brooke needs to help her through this awful time she is having. :) xsx Sandra

I just wrote a counting poem, you inspired me and the words just rolled out. Ten Little Fairies. I forgot to add it to the book and the add chapter won't work now.

You can PM Tom. Write the name of your poem AND the name of the book "Get well, Brooks" and ask him to add it. I have done so 3 times. He will fix it.

Janny,
I think this is the best of all, it brought a smile to my face as well as tears. I know Brooke will really like this one in her honor. You incorporated a great deal in this poem from the sad little boy, the homeless man, the lonely girl, until that one smile searched for Brooke, this is when my tears did flow. Thanks for sharing once again. LOL Portia

Hello Jannypan. I found it! hahaha... I really like your poem and I see a series of poems about ten things :) Cool idea.

Let see, the rhyme was not consistant but the poem has a good sound. To me the message is about the power of smiles and how it affects people. It is so true!

My favorite line was [one for the animals with no sound hoping to avoid the pound] so sad :(

Good job with your poem!!

Hi Jan,

this is really a lovely poem dedicated to Brooke. She loved to write the count down poems especially for the children.
Your count down smiles with I am sure bring a smile to her face.

Well done
Mary

Another nice poem using your counting theme. The line that stuck out to me was verse four about the girl being bullied, as this is an experience I have had a lot of experience with both as an educator and a mother. Best of luck to Brooke. Medicine can do amazing things these days and I hope she is on the mend.

I love that you are giving out smiles! What a wonderful gift for humanity. I also appreciate the rhyme scheme throughout the entire poem. I think it makes it even better. A smile can change a life, just like this poem. Thank you for sharing.
