W.J. Debi, the poem is lovely! The call to Calliope adds beautiful imagery. The rhythm has the gentleness of a lake's lap upon the shore! The rhymes, words as dew, their pearlescent hue, the metaphors, dewdrops flowing on the page, are all addressed to her name, "adewpearl"! Quite a poetic tribute! Great job and tribute to a friend!

This is absolutely beautiful, debi :) I wish I could have written something as lovely as this. The third stanza doesn't start with a capital letter. Is that intentional? Lovely picture. I love your muse line and the calliope reference. Wish I had a sixer for this.

Thank you so much for the virtual six and the encouraging review, Joy. Thank you for commenting about the Calliope reference; I wondered if it would work. I did mean to capitalize the first letter of the third stanza so thank you for pointing that out. I read this review yesterday and then went to edit the poem intending to come back and thank you for the review. My computer froze up so after an hour of rebooting over and over I gave up. Thankfully, it seems to be working today.

-"These dewdrops flow upon the page, in verses gracious, gentle sage. You guide us with a knowing hand, and give us tools to understand." Why particularly chosen this verse is because this is so righteous of Brooke because she is the teacher that is taught many, especially myself, in poetry, grammar and other particular forms of poetry.
-Good use of enjambment which is the running on of a thought and concepts from one stanza in line to the next without a syntactical break.
-Excellent rhyming where each rhyming word is contingent to the meaning and concept of each line therefore making the rhythm flow smoothly.
-Written make meters iambic tetrameter and the cadence, tempo and timing well helpful in making the reading clear, fluid and very easy.
-"You pull us close like family, and set a standard all can see. With loving kindness you bestow, the power to learn and then to grow." Again, this enhances Brooke's teachings and her own poetry in itself teaches us much.
-Good use of enjambment which is the running on of a thought and concepts one stanza and line to the next without his adapter go break.

Thank you for the exceptional review, Alex. The golden six is much appreciated! I appreciate you pointing out the two stanzas and commenting on what they show about Brooke. You caught exactly what I was getting at, and I so appreciate that. I hope Brooke can return and post poems again. She adds so much to the site with her verse and her reviews. I have learned so much from her.

Thank you, she was actually my grammar teacher.

I bet you loved her as a teacher. I have taken a few classes from her here on the site and I learn so much every time. She is so gracious about it too. I hope she can start writing again once she feels better.

Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate the comment about the play on her nom de plum. I wondered if it worked. Brooke is amazing. I studied several of her poems when I first joined the site and then tried to copy the forms she was using. I did end up taking a couple of classes from her and was just starting a third. She postponed a couple of times and then no contact. That is so unlike her. I hope she recovers enough to post again and share her wonderful talent. It seemed to bring her joy and I certainly looked forward to reading her work.
