I love to sit next to the ocean and listen to the sound of the waves. Its been a while and I miss it. This is well done.
Take Care.

Ha, love it PG. In places your poem reminds me of an old sea shanty or Donald Where's your Troosers. Oh who knows where we these impressions come from, I'm just saying.

Cleverly interwoven Elvis tunes and do they have these Elvis look alike contests everywhere? I've always wondered what Lisa Marie thinks about people imitating her dad all over the world.

Super fun and super job, dear friend.

A beautiful a Rock and Roll poem. It is reminder of the time of Elvis Presley--the King of Rock and Roll. He is still remembered today. And the place that is visited by Elvis Fans Porthcawl is teeming with visitors almost every year if not yearly where Presley is immortalise. I think the poem when recited or sang is beautiful. Thanks for reminding us once again an idol who had rocked the world during his time. Dom

A fascinating poem with a great title to introduce the poem
I wonder which will last longer, Homer's Odyssey or Elvis' memory.
The gulls and whales run away, but the people flock on this day to Tucker Rock.
Good combination of exact and near rhyme that rocks well
Good rolling tetrameter
Great art work to match the poem
And thunder rolls on Tucker Rock
Well done

G'day mate. This is another very well written addition to the series, they all rock but this one rocks more. There is a place called Parkes in NSW, Australia where they hold an Elvis festival each year and even after all of this time he's still hugely popular. Every time I do a gig here perhaps one third of the requests are for Elvis songs, even from the young blokes. Well done my friend, great stuff, cheers Fez

Yup. I've heard of Parked and it's festival. He definitely was unique. Thanks for another great review.

Excellent! The rhyme and rhythm flowed smoothly and you created a vivid image of not only Elvis but of the excitement one must feel when celebrating in the international Elvis Festival! I also enjoyed the play on words (the title and hi tide). Great Job! God bless :-)

I like the references to the rock and roll greats and the personification that it brings to the sea. I will say that this was not my favorite in your series but that is just me:) - nothing against your poem - my opinion only.

That lively Anapestic tetrameter worked very to hold the musical rhythm and breaking waves of this clever piece on that English Elvis Event. Loved how you wove in some song titles. I bet not everyone will catch "all shook up". I really enjoyed this one.

I'm really pleased you liked it. I didn't write this for "Littoral" specifically but penned actually during the event - tidying it up later. When I came to put "Littoral" together I realised that as a coastal event it could legitimately be included. Thanks for the great review.

What an entertaining poem. Yes I remember Elvis, seen his movies and hear his songs. In Singapore we have musical groups who patronized the Elvis Festival too.

Your poem rocks with your diction, rhythm and flow.
"Sets flared white trousers shaking.
Pounding on Rest Bay and headland,
Rock and Rolling from every shop,
The beat, born deep south in Graceland,
Thunders on Tusker Rock."
The images are so appropriate to describe the Rock and Roll King and his vibrant festival. Well done.
Just a comment:
"Drives gulls (away) and whales away,"
It reads better if you remove the first away.

Thanks for a great review. If we lose the first away we lose the tetrameter! Also Masefied wrote "... the gulls way and the whales way where the wind's like a whetted knife."
