A lovely tribute to your mom. Although it is free verse I think the rhyming part actually works very well and adds structure to the poem. It is funny how Mother's Day ( ours was actually in March) somehow brings grief nearer the surface.

I share those sentiments with you, Tom, I miss my mother so much, and on Mothering Sunday I missed her so much more. Your mother lived to be a grand age, Tom, you had the pleasure of having her a long time. My mum was 86, but she pined away after my father died. We will all meet again, that is something to look forward to when it is our time. Excellent again, my friend. xsx Sandra

I'm so thankful I still have my own mother to call up and wish a Happy Mother's Day to. I'm very sorry that you've lost yours. But, as long as you have her memory in your heart, a part of her will forever remain with you.
