Brilliant! Ha ha ha, I was so very well entertained by this poem Rhonda and I loved your inventive story within the poem here. I could recommend a few poems that would benefit by this procedure as some think metre is a foreign disease that should be eradicated! Loved this post, love Dolly x x x

Hi Dolly, thanks for taking time to review the poem. It was definitely made in fun and to make fun of ourselves and our inability to get everything right.
I re-posted it because I was telling some other members about it on this site and figured rather than them digging though my portfolio, I should just repost it.
    Take care,

This was quite the long discussion in verse about the "semi-colonoscopy" and it reads effortlessly so I would have never known that it was a collaborative effort by two poets! Yes, punctuation in poetry is really debatable and accents can make the meter questionable, too. Thanks for re-promoting as this was posted before I was on FS.

Well, Helen, I'm glad I did repost it, then. Feral, also called Fez, was a staple here on the site for awhile. The poetic form in Bush Poetry from Australia. He was raised by the Aborigines after escaping a horrible child abuse situation. This was the type of poetry he was most comfortable with.

How cool! Of course, I know Feral and follow him on Facebook. He is always raving about Delia's wonderful cooking!

Rhonda, I'm embarrassed to review this because I'm not sure whether you rigged all the verses not to scan - thus making the joke much funnier - but the idea is brilliant, and you get a five for that (I don't have any more sixes) - but if you did set the verses not to scan, you were 100% successful.

The last time I said this to a former friend on line, they never spoke to me again! I think if you had made the meter scan precisely, the poem would have been a knockout - but I still have no sixes!
A very funny, very clever idea.

Paul

    Hi Paul,
I'm not sure what you mean about the verses not scanning. I can tell you that Feral, who was a very popular poet on this site a few years back, always joked about having little poetic ability of rhythm and such, but still pulled off a second place standing on the site. His personality and prolific writing helped out.

I'm more a prose than poetry writer, so most of the rules go right over my head.

I appreciate your taking time to read and analyze about an 8 year old poem, lol.

L o l ha ha ha ha ha. I thought this one was gonna be shitty ha ha ha...boohoo.
Sorry, I'm having a bit of fun with your fun. You made me smile and you know? There's not enough smiles in the world so I really appreciate this. Thank you so much, I'm certainly a different take. I hope the guy didn't rip you out too badly, that doctor.
I see, no issues with grammar, spelling esthetics, sentence structure. Subject matter you got a really cool Poem and I enjoyed it very much. I hope you have the best day!

Hi Lea, thank you so much for reviewing our poem. We actually collaborated on the poem before it was cool to do so on this site, and we did it with several others, but it was so much fun. We were trying to take a lighter side of worrying over all the mechanics involved in poetry, also why I'm primarily a prose writer, lol.

Thanks again, and I appreciate the added humor you included.

    Take care,
    Rhonda

LOL!!! Rhonda, this is even better reading than hearing you describe it. No wonder you gave poetry and went to novels. It was great fun to meet you Ann, and Sarah for lunch, I hope we get to do it again. Terry.

I'm glad you liked the poem. It was the start of a great friendship, one I still keep up with on FaceBook.

I really enjoyed meeting all of you, too, and you've inspired me to take some more stabs at short stories. They really are fun.

I'm going to have fun looking into all of y'alls old posts!!

I look forward to meeting up again,

Hello Davisr,
Nice piece of Humor Poetry beautifully depicting its theme!
Wording is impressive and perfectly matching the theme.
Smooth and captivating flow with lovely rhyming scheme and lively imagery.
The most striking lines are:
"I came to make my poetry well and not to build my strife,
but he made me pay good money I had promised to my wife.
My poetry was good all along, so he should have let it be,
and never did I really need this Semi-Colonoscopy."

From adventures with Nyamal tribesmen to an encounter with a doctor for semi-colonoscopy, there is a big change with the present poembeing so hilarious. We are relieved to learn that you did not have to go for the operation. If you visit a graphologist with your hand-written poems, he would tell you what thoughts flow in your mind and what sort of personality you have. Would that not be interesting?:)-

Lol, this was really good. You both made your medical and writing comparisons work perfectly. It was addictive, I had to keep reading. I smiled all the way through and ended with a real laugh. Well done. This (in my opinion) is a very difficult creation you two came up with. It is truly wonderful. You both write with such talent and knowledge. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Echo, you are truly a gifted reviewer. You made me smile as well. It all started with our discussion of the use of a semicolon, and Fez took it to a very funny level. We decided to write a poem about it together. He has a wonderful and down to earth sense of humor! Thanks, again,

man, I hate semicolons. I wonder what came first - the term colonoscopy or semicolons. if the invasive, despised procedure were named after semicolons - well, I would not doubt it. a funny poem. there are a few spots that can use a semicolon though...just kidding.

Thank you for the great thoughts and musings on semicolons and their origins, obviously Fez and I had a lot of fun with it. And I'm sure grammar has its purpose and its supporters, but me, not so much,
    thanks again

This poem was funny, yet serious--as a person who suffered from using too many semi-colons myself, I sure wish I'd have been aware of this procedure before; great collaboration!

Thanks, Mike, and my problems was using dashes too much. Gotta cut those run-ons some how. It's been my pleasure working with Fez. Cool guy, and very talented!
