Excellent read. Although a bit wordy for my liking, the content of said "wordiness" was well worth it. Descriptive and captivating. I was able to illustrate the war torn scenario in my mind while reading, so you did your job well here.

Not true those who set fights take gains, they sell all equipment and claim conquest: fighter merely are pawns. Thanking you for generous rate and touching thoughts.

A child these thoughts I had not even four, playing with twigs as soldiers but stern in combat beliefs. I buried them in separate match boxes. Dug them up twenty years later. Thanking you for generous rate and inspiring thoughts about this write.

I don't believe anyone wins in war any more. There are no spoils to gain. This is very vividly written. You can picture the children having to become men and go off to war. The lines are drawn black versus red. Thank you for sharing such a powerful poem.

A disturbing view of man's expected inhumanity to all beings. The part about the children is as training them for future times of war. Little scavengers scurrying for items they can use to mimic adult action in a field some where. Only the environment is real enough to cast the child man down in his play and before he is grown.

Brings reelection on the spoils of war and why they are fought, and for who,
War has now become the money maker of the leaders in power created not brewed and no one wins except the banks

First, regarding your notes - to answer the question you pose, no one wins in war, IMO. I think your poem says it all, too - no matter when the war takes place, the spoils of war are never worth the sacrifices. Well done!

Really a mind boggling situation of anger and hatred and war as a sport, it would seem. I'm sure that even with the lessons of the past, there are still today those who would still enjoy this as a form of sport and entertainment. Disgusting to me but well written! HIS GRAYNESS! Vance

Sad indeed yet no answer beyond conflict to resolve things -why can't we all get alone? We have issues and these concepts make wars Too generous rate and I see the thrill of the fight felt
