Masterly writing !! The rhythm is perfect ( as well you know) and the tale of the Selkie wife's tale is told with tenderness and sympathy. My feelings lie mainly with her, lost from her birth right, her own kind, how lonely she must have been. I acknowledge the chauvinism of a by-gone age ,but I was still glad that she found her way back to freedom in the end. The last line sums it up very well, doesn't it? Slightly reminiscent of Hamlet's speech in the graveyard . "There are more things in Heaven and Earth Horatio----" Well done cheers Cass

Wow! I've never been compared with Shakespeare before! Thank you for reading and this most complimentary review. My sympathies too lie with the Selkie, but it could be seen as a cautionary tale for young girls I suppose.

Myths are always very interesting to read or listen. The seal makes love with human seal taking water skin off; she then after making love puts the skin back and swims to the sea.
