Excellent essay on how "paranoia could turn into mass hysteria." Yes, the world has changed since 9/11. We live in a world closer to Orwell's "1984" or Spielberg's "Minority Report." You catalog the catastrophic changes we made in security and privacy in the last fifteen years. This is a piece Snowden would have loved.

The only spag is that White House is two words.

Thank you for sharing and daring to speak the truth.

I wonder what that answer is? I, for one, sleep better knowing these efforts are in force. I will give up my privacy for my life. Very well written, good luck in the contest.
