I enjoyed this - something a little different that drew me in - the words, and both rhythm and rhyme flowing smoothly throughout - well penned, my friend.

I guess he couldn't have a life on the rodeo circuit and the love of his woman both at the same time, so he made a choice. Was it the right choice? Romantics would shout an emphatic, YES!", at the top of their lungs...but I wonder.
A great tale of the rodeo and one man's journey within it. When you mess with the bull, you usually get the horns, right?
Good rhyming and an even tempo help carry this through to the climactic ending.

Yeah, I wouldn't get on one either....these guys are crazy, and according to your lyrics, very likely to be lonely too. You evoke the life-style very well, in an authentic way, and likewise the recorded dialogue is convincing.
I would rework the last line in the penultimate stanza, so it scans/reads better....'watched as her man died'....? I liked your poem/story.

Yeah, I wouldn't get on one either....these guys are crazy, and according to your lyrics, very likely to be lonely too. You evoke the life-style very well, in an authentic way, and likewise the recorded dialogue is convincing.

Actually I was thinking more of Christ LeDeaux. There was an Entertainer and a rodeo cowboy, bareback horses.

Incidentally I share the same back problem.
Loved the poem. Sorry the cowboy died.
For the most part the rhyme was solid, the story was good, but sad and the rhythm was fantastic. It would make a great song

These are really well written song lyrics about the rodeo. You did a great job in writing them and the rhyming is really nice also. You'd never catch me riding bulls either so I must have a big yellow stipe down the middle of my back too.
