Another excellent piece, with the theme of love at its centre which comes through strongly in your writing. Your writing flowed well and I couldn't find anything to critique. Good luck in the contest...Jacob

Aloha TAB,
Great poem, love the theme, makes me want to go write in the sand and soak up some rays with my ATK A Tarnished Knight. Mahalo for the points and $$$ I need them.

Hi, Teresa...

Excellent example through the hearts in the sand about how love can and does many times get swept away with the erosion of time, as the waves obliterate.

Well penned, and a super entry. Good luck, my friend.

Cheers & Blessings

Good poem with the perfect picture. I am sure there are thousands that have put their names or initials in the sand on every sandy beach in the world. Good job of telling your story.

This poem is lovely Teresa and the message is clear. It remind me of those who live far from the beach carving the names of themselves and their love in the bark of a tree. Blessings young lady. Patricia

Hi Teresa,

What a nice poem you've written in Blank Verse. I don't think I've ever written one like this and probably never will. Best wishes for the contest. It would be nice if you would win!

Nice poem which could use a bit more development . Is athwart a typo. Grains of sand is one phrase that could be used more, as it evokes a lot of thoughts as does the idea of being washed away. don

    Athwart is not a typo.

    a·thwart
    (ə-thwôrt′)
    prep.
    1. From one side to the other of; across: "the Stars that shoot athwart the Night" (Alexander Pope).
    2. Contrary to; against.
    3. Nautical Across the course, line, or length of.
    adv.
    1. From side to side; crosswise or transversely.
    2. So as to thwart, obstruct, or oppose; perversely.

Thanks for suggestion to expand this. I had actually thought the same so will give it some thought:)

Good luck with your entry in the blank verse contest
Created vivid imagery with your descriptive and eloquent language.
So many lovers place their hearts on the beach only to have the waves wash it away. Good pairing of picture and poem

I love the picture you chose for your though provoking words. I like the comparison of the grains of sand with their message of love that the waves wash over. Good job. No changes needed. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.
