You poem is timely not just for Easter but for the children of parents swept away by a war of dubious nature of what are in reality godless men. Christ was crucified by the same leaving Mary with only her faith and memories. Two stanzas of excellent poetics. Cheers Bill for your thoughts. - Alan

Wonderfully penned. You have my vote. Clever switch on the very famous short Bible verse. I often wonder what Mary must've thought through all the chaos and horror of what happened to her Son. Great job.

I've enjoyed your excellent acrostic, of course despite the poignant them. You've looked at Easter in light of Mary's suffering. You're so right, the agony of the Mother of Christ watching her son and his betrayal.
Excellent presentation and well phrased quatrains. Smooth flow, acrostics can sometimes restrict this and sound disjointed. Your tone is calm and peaceful, as a loving son attempting to sooth his mother's pain. One of the best I've read. Well done. I wish you the best of luck in the contest. The first stanza is joyful and painful. Jesus is dying yet he's thinking about his mother and reminding her that God loved her so much he made her the chosen one among woman.
The second stanza is Jesus happiness and willingness to suffer for mankind.
The words and picture are amazingly powerful.
