A very beautiful piece of poetry Bill. I was very impressed with how you were able write this wonderful acrostic from the point of view of Jesus comforting Mary. Thought the rhymes and the rhythms of the piece kept the words of Christ flowing very smoothly. Well done.

I am so sorry I have no six stars left for this poem, a truly exceptional one as we approach Easter. It is extremely uplifting, but even so sadness seeps through, sadness that we could so mistreat the truly good.
$$$
I can't remember the original, but this version is notable for the change in point of view between the two stanzas. I re-iterate my original comment, if I could change my rating to a six I would. kay

Hello Katherine,
Thank you very much for your heartfelt words, that's all I need.
Yes, I agree with you. It seems as though our world has been filled with violence and sadness all the way back to Cain and Abel and it probably will be until the end of time.
Happy Easter to you and yours Katherine...Stay safe...Bill

A very inspiring write about the season. The pictures and detail are well versed and the presentation is vivid. The last stanza is most effective. I only question 'mary's glory' as she probably would not have accepted such a title but I see your point. I really like the last two lines penetrate the most. Congratulations on this, excellent work.

I missed this one, boyfriend! I can see why you won, I can only give you a virtual six, I wish I had a real one. Mary was the 'chosen one' out of all the women, God chose her to carry his Son. How proud I'd be if I'd have been her. I always wonder why women in different countries are treated with so much disrespect instead of being honoured. Your author's notes I completely agree with. It would have broken my heart to watch my son die that way, and God's plan or not, she had to have been distraught.
Well done, my friend, a worthy winner. Stay safe and well. :)) Sandra xxx

Well Hello Girl Friend,
Thank you for your fantastic review, I appreciate it. Yes, what an horrible experience that must have been for Mary.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
I hope that this response finds you and Graham in good health without any problems. My wife and I have been self-quarantined for 3 weeks. It's a wonder that she hasn't killed me by now...LOL
Happy Easter and Stay safe...Cheers...Bill

Actually, I'm enjoying having Graham around, he's usually off helping the boys, our sons, and now I have him and he can't escape! He has a list as long as my arm of jobs he's never had time to do!! LOL. You take care too, and have as good an Easter as you can. :)) xxx

Hey Girl Friend,
That list of jobs that Graham has sounds familiar, like "The Honey-Do-List. You didn't let him read that poem that I posted a few weeks ago, did you? LOL...
Poor fellow, I know from experience what he must be going through. Please don't overload him so much that he might try to run away from home, especially now...LOL
Cheers and great happiness to you all...Bill

Cedar/Bill,
You wrote this Easter poem many years ago (2015). It resonates today as it did many years ago. Great title, "Mary Wept." It's beautifully written and it is very touching to read. As a mother, I can't imagine the pain of Mother Mary to lose her son so horribly on that day. This is a keeper of poems. You made the words to rhyme so nicely in your poem. Good job, Cedar. The picture is also very touching to see. Thank you for this poem. Happy writing:-) Good job! Much success in your wood crafts!!!

Very genuine poem! I love your use of words. I also like how the start of each sentence creates a word. It was a very sweet poem and I like how you come up with it by the scripture "Jesus Wept".

Thanks my friend for your great review, I really appreciate it. I haven't been around much lately. We're in our busy season here on the farm. I just pop-in when I can, mainly on rainy days. I hope you're doing alright. Take care of yourself. Bill
