What I liked about your poem is that you mentioned Mary and her pain.
Obviously the Holy Week is about the death and resurrection of Jesus , he died on the cross to save us.
But often I think of Mary 's pain in seeing her son put to death.
She witnessed how the Jewish high priests turned the people against his son, how the Romans stripped him naked , tortured and humiliated Him , she saw Him die on the cross.
Jesus was without sin yet the high priests hated Jesus ( they feared him ) and plotted His death.
Mary saw all these injustices.

Thank you my friend for your detailed review, I appreceate it. I agree with what you said, what torture that must have been for Mary to witness such a brutal death of her Son on that old rugged cross.

What perfect timing to share this exceptional poem. I love the way you have used the letters of Mary Wept for the beginning of each line. Naturally we are focused on Jesus' suffering and death, but we all should think about her agony as well. Well done!

This is a moving poem, looking at the Passion from Mary's point of view. The ordeal is almost unimaginable for any mother. But Mary must have known His destiny.

I can't imagine watching your son do that kind of sacrifice for everyone. As a parent you want to protect your child and take their pain away. No matter what the reason they are doing what they are doing, watching this would be soul crushing as a mother.
