Ha ha! This is truly excellent for the contest entry, Mikey! What those pets do to you revealed in public at last! It's a great story with humor, character and a great and funny ending. Best of luck my friend, Pete :)

I enjoyed this splendid story of a devious bunch of ill-behaved animals. They just don't know their place in society. I suspect they should all be sent to the special school for delinquent beasts.

Hah! Well, your "Donna" sounds a lot like my "Keresna", Mikey. Only I allow just one cat in our home -- (which is a double wide trailer instead of a penthouse, by the way, LOL)-- and that's my black cat Mig'gah. Yes, I realize the cat's name is a bit racist.. "My Nig...", well, you get the message..., but I didn't name him, my rapper wannabe, twenty-year-old son's cousin did. She gave him the name, and it simply stuck.

Anyhow, I'm on disability because of my heart, and am left to oversee the Cook Family Zoo everyday. That consists of a Quaker Parrot named Isabelle (Izzy Izborne, I call her), two miniature dachshunds, Tippy D. Doo-Doo and Frank E. Furter (both dubbed for obvious reasons which I won't go into), the aforementioned Mig'gah, and our eleven-year-old queen of the household, Gidget, the Chihuahua who helps me keep them all in line. That isn't counting the ten strays which my wife expects me to clean up after, feed and water who live out on our enclosed back deck/room. It's a friggin' madhouse around here!

Anyhow, I've often wondered what -- if anything substantial -- all these animals are saying to each other concerning Keresna and me. Now, I have some sort of idea, at least.

I won't budge on the no cat rule in the house, however, with the exception of Mig'gah. Gidget, the Chihuahua, tries to eat the poor guy up whenever he gets to within two feet of me now as it is.

Very funny story, I enjoyed reading it. :)

This was a really good and funny story.
Glad yo mentioned Marmalade for the ginger cat. right? I had the female version the Tortoise shell. I think you know Ginger or marmalade don't come in female right? Vice versa Tortoise shell don't come in male either. Loved the "Puperoni."
I think I'll go on the redwood chips in the neighbor's ....this is what our neighbour's cats do in our place! Grrr!
One spag....

Lol!

I loved the delinquent crow who ended up with a swimming pool and all the bananas he could eat.

No humans were harmed. That is funny.

I hope Zahir doesn't find out about this contest!

Best wishes,

There is nothing as funny as a bunch of wise guy pets! And yours certainly are quite good at human manipulation. Great story, well written. Best of luck in the contest!

Well I'm sure glad I didn't adopt those three even if I do have a blind diabetic dog with thyroid trouble that needs shots and pills twice a day and wants in and out several times a night! LOL Yes they do rule the roost! Well done. Good luck Mikey! :<) Nancy

I loved and completely relate to every Puperoni and tale wag in this story. I'm Donna - I'll try to rescue the most forlorn of creatures. Our dog lives like a princess, and we're proud of it. Thanks so much for putting this humorous, (and so true) story together. So many of us can relate.

Great visuals and you got right into the minds of those pets.Love the end lines. humans are the true fools who serve these animals.

Oh I'm laughing. I have an eighteen pound cat and I swear I know what he is thinking . He meows "mama" and has us wrapped around his big paws. this was great, Mike. So sweet and funny
