Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Ah! What a sentimental and truthful recollection of a wonderful time. This was so well done can captured so many elements of the time-quality workmanship, great design, hanging out with friends and growing toward adulthood.

And the resounding echo- gas was "twenty-nine, nine."

So clever and reinforcing of the points being made.

The 50s and 60s certainly held moments of magic. Kids would do what they still do now--drive flashy cars and pick up the birds. I remember my sports car days before I married and what about those fabulous discos? Well done, Tom.

Loved this, my friend. I think this will do well. Your repeating lines frame the poem and give it that wholesome feel.
Great imagery and trips down memory lane. Wish you well with this, my friend.
Best wishes,
RG

Your mastery of crafts of rhyme and meter are well displayed in this clever vignette. I was on contract with Lockheed for a passel of space hardware so our paths may have nearly crossed back then in yeaster-year.

Thank you Pyrrho. It entirely possible. What programs did you work on?
reply by Pyrrho on 19-Feb-2015
We supplied the deployment mechanism for the Space Station Solar arrays, We designed the mechanism that rotated the solar arrays to follow the sun and were fabricating it but Lockheed cancelled our contract and decided to do it themselves. They screwed it up and got a black eye for that.

We supplied the solar array for one of the Mars flights. The "center of excellence " in California got into a pissing contest with your former Division because they claimed the right to supply the arrays but only ours fit your needs. The argument went all the way to Lockheed's President who came down in favor of us.

I do not recall what else we made for Lockheed we had many contracts and had mostly an excellent relation with you.

Yep! I've given my 65 Mustang to my Son who's restoring it and keeping it in the family. Yes. It would be quite wonderful if that 289 with a 4 barrel could have a nice, long talk ;)

Brings back memories of the good old days. I remember when my tank will fill up for $5.00 and not too long ago we had the drive-in cinemas.
cars today are soft and one touch takes you into the tens of thousands to repair.
Nice story in a poem and good luck in the contest

Those cars had lots of room, no bucket seats and center console and you could get lots of friends in there:) Not too great on the gas mileage but it was cheap back then. Great memories in your story poem. Good luck!

Dear Tom - great story poem. 50cents of gas? Boy time has changed. This has wonderful rhyme and fluid read, the story itself made me smile. Those were the days my friend. Good luck in the contest. This is a great submission.
