You are in top form tonight, Dean. I love this poem. It is so incredibly funny in the sort of way I like---silly and sarcastic all at once, and also downright clever. Got any more poems for me to read tonight?

Too cool,
Rhonda

Nah, not tonight, Rhonda. They'll only allow me to post two a day. But feel free to drop in on my portfolio anytime. My door is always open, LOL...

OMG - I am rolling on the floor laughing!

I can't count the number of times I have spent the day writing/editing/re-writing/searching thesaurus & wiki/ gnawing knuckles/editing etc etc only to look up and discover it's 11PM (last look - 11AM) -

I have gotten VERY good at the scrambled/semi-omelet breakfalupper concoction! (chicken/broccoli/cheddar [home fries if I got em ready to slice in] my fav - though left over pasta with bacon bits and grated parmesan runs a close second - LOL)

We do lose our grip on time in here - don't we???

Great (and relatable) poem Dean :-)

Thanks very much for reading, Lorraine. And yeah, it is really easy to lose track of time when you're knee-deep in writing. I try to eat at least once per day, but even then I sometimes forget.
I deeply appreciate your time and review.
    Hugs!!!

I just hate it when I am just ready to sit down to breakfast and an inspiration I get. Many times the inspiration will stay if between bites I will recite a line or other times I will loss it all together. Maybe this would solve my problem. Patricia

Hey, it works for yours truly, Patricia. Besides, I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes it seems as if there aren't enough hours in the day to do what we need to do, alongside of what we want to do.
Give it a shot. You might be surprised.
Thanks so much for your review.

You make me smile Dean
Great philosophy
one who loves to write
must eat 3 squares a day
good nutrition goes to the writer brain
Otherwise, their thoughts fails then flunks

Oh, so that's what's wrong with my thought process! I had been wondering lately. I'm lucky if I eat once a day. Seriously, Gert. And that's if I'm lucky. I get so busy and have so much to do, I literally forget sometimes.
But I DO have time for breakfalupper.
    Thanks much for the review.

    You are welcome Dean

Guess who makes sure I eat three times a day and a cocktail before dinner time.

    Here goes...guess number one...
    Stan?

Heh-heh-heh... God bless him then, Gert.

Ha, ha - good laugh and great last animation. You led us down the garden path - I mean the hall into the kitchen and got me hook line and sinker. It's breakfast I will skip, while I think upon your tip!

Luckily I read this before I ate. I would be in ICU if it was the other way around. This is very well written with a interesting flow of words, making for a good read.

Hahaha, well, we wouldn't want that, Charlie, no sir! So I agree, I'm glad you read it before you ate too.
Thanks for the review. I appreciate it.

Haha...Dean this nonsense is wonderful. However, I don't believe you ever get a bad review!
Your meal sounds like almost every dinner prepared at our house. My husband is the master of throwing various strange ingredients into a pan, usually including onions, garlic, and lots of veggies. Our joke is, just grate cheese on top of it, you'll never know the difference.
"Don't e're write if you don't love it, do not place all else above it." True enough, and good advice.
Fun, entertaining, well-written words here (as usual).
Carol

Yep, I know exactly what you mean, Carol. It's pretty much the same around here too.
Grated cheese--especially sharp cheddar--can hide a multitude of evils, LOL.
As for that little bit of advice, both are true. I love to write--just about anything--but I got so wrapped up in getting a publishing contract that it cost me my marriage of 22 years. I have no one else to blame where that's concerned.
Thanks so much for reading. I genuinely appreciate your comments.

Funny, so far today I have had coffee, Coke and smokes. Not from a writing bout- got that out of the way- but my metabolism is ridiculously slow....okay, okay. I wrote through breakfast and lunch. I love the irony in "how much their writing sets them free". Sometimes it is a freakin' ball and chain but ya' know, it is what we do. No need for you to eat crow.

Geesh Louise, Ed! I'm glad to know you're not mixing cigarettes in with your food and eatin' 'em,! Although, come to think of it, that's really not a bad idea. Kill, like, four birds with one single stone--breakfast, lunch, dinner, and those smokes that always come after.
N-a-a-a-h-h, never mind...it tastes awful, BLAH!
Thanks for the review, buddy. I really appreciate it.

It still carries your trademark fluency, irrespective of what you say about it Dean, your writing abilities are still on display despite what you say! The subject matter is a little interesting to say the least. But also your normal great presentation, most entertaining, and one thing you're not, is boring, nicely even meter. Great delivery, articulate and rhyming, although as you say freely so, well done, Dean, blessings Roy.

Haha, well, at least boring is one thing I'm not, Roy. I try not to be. After all, without good, kind folks like yourself to read what I've written, what's the point? We all want to entertain our readers. Whether it be beautiful spiritual poetry like yours, or whimsical nonsense, kind'a like this post.
Thanks yet again for your encouraging review, Roy.
    God bless...

Wow, thank you, Barb. I don't believe anyone's ever used the word "amazing" before where I was concerned. But I really appreciate that fact that you think so, and I'm glad you read, reviewed and enjoyed reading one from my "lighter side".
Thanks so much again for your gracious comments. I really appreciate it.
