I wonderful poetic free verse journey into the Mind of a leaf. Wonderful characterizations of the forces and energies that play on a leaf. Very clever, very colorful. Full of imagination and a delightful read.

An enjoyable story with a unique point of view from the perspective of a leaf. I found its originality and storytelling charming. Your poem flows well and is interesting. Last line makes the perfect ending. Marilyn/BeasPeas

Dear Vance - this is a spectacular post, captivating and creative. It kept me engaged and wondering, as well as exploring life as I read your lines. Beautiful work that has a depth and contemplative feel to it. My favourites to read my friend.
I would suggest putting in a few line breaks, just to ease the one big block of words you have here. I think it would also help in creating a pause or pondering for the reader....like taking a breath slowly before the next step begins. But exceptional work all the same.
Thanks for sharing,
Maureen

Lovely artwork that complement your lengthy poem very well. It is an epiphany for a leaf, a big one. He is God's leaf indeed. A nice and original free verse. Thanks for sharing.

Well, this is just too outstanding. I knew it was going to be about the life of a leaf...but what a life! And the laughing at the bugs falling was just too much! I loved it. But then, as Autumn set in...fear of not knowing how to fly, and then taking on the aura, vibrational beingness of the human...to finally become ink...and thus this message. I loved this. I think for a while...I was a leaf too!

Bless you Irish Rain: I'm sure if you indeed believed it.....it really did happen and you were indeed a Leaf. Our energies given by God are highly interchangeable and ALL LIVING THINGS HAVE ENERGY so my deepest thanks are to you for this lovely sharing of YOUR energy. Blessings and Love: Vance

You are most welcome! Yes, I believe absolutely everything is energy...which never dies, it simply changes form. I SO enjoyed this!

Vance, this is fun write that personifies the advent of the left. Great dialogue that is much like a child would speak. I enjoyed the creative way this is written. :0 GracieAnn

Thank you Gracie Ann but I'm alarmed and confused at how this reflects anything "left" (in politics?) as I am a bit right of Genghis Khan. ??? Thanks for your review..as always...much appreciated. Vance

Vance, I fat fingered the word left and meant to type leaf. LOL :0 GracieAnn

Wow! You just blew me away with this. The personification of the leaf was so real that it put me in a trance. The leaf is vulnerable as humans, in that there's an end to everything. The most amazing part which explained this all is: "You see, I borrowed a soul...for just a little while from a human that could write this all down for me." Clever!!! This to me is your very best. I give it ten stars!!!!!!!!!!! Les

Dear Les: I am exhilarated at your review as I respect your talent so very much! I always wanted to try and move my persona to another perspective and I so dearly love nature and especially trees and leaves so my thoughts embraced the leaf and my connection became this work. Thanks again for such a wonderful encouragement! Vance Bless you for the six stars!!!!!

l feel the energy in this poem, Vance, although I think you overdo the exclamation points. Great use of personification and clever take on a leaf taking over a soul. You use a concrete image very successfully to get across an abstract thought.

where does one go to find the words to begin reviewing this without sounding condescending and trite. I am at a loss to respectfully "match" the SPITIUALALITY, ARTISTRY, and INTEGRITY of every individual word PERFECTLY CHOSEN AND PLACED within PERFECTLY CRAFTED sentences within TRANSCENDANT PARAGRAPHS of such HOLY THOUGHT................. so PALPABLE and TACTILE..(the response -I "feel ya", man- can't even scratch the surface of YOUR WORLD) For us wordplay fans there are several metaphors and UNIQUE first time puns here as well as the MASTERFUL scripture. You are the planet's greatest poet (yes, this was "prose" but SHEER poetry, brother.) I am pleased at this great work and will not even try to "flower" this......I will LEAF it alone to loudly declare itself without a cheerleader........this was TOO damn good and original
