Snow is for the children. Some adults qualify because they are young at heart. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is good imagery.

I arrived at the end and wondered why. The I spotted the announcement of the genre ... poetry for children. This is not what I usually find in the claimed genre, but I guess it can be so classified. Nice read.

I enjoyed reading your poem.
It had good flow.
It had good rhythm and rhyme.
My favorite stanza was the last verse.
What a different point of view children have as compared to adults.
My thoughts about snow are.....Jesus! Please make it stop!

This poem was such fun to read. The rondeau style keeps things moving in such a joyful way--which aptly suited the scene you were describing. Thanks! Caroline

The rhythm in this poem is reflective of the snow lightly falling. It is serene and gentle, reflecting a point in time when all is well. I wanted to stay there.

Thank you for sharing the fun in the snow--especially to someone like me in Southern California, where it's currently in the 70's! I enjoyed the rhymes in your Rondeau. Enjoy winter's "shining on the roof"- Joan

Excellent writing here, Peter. Your poem was composed using a brisk cadence and snappy tempo. The creative usage of verbs enhances the action taking place in your winter wonderland. This is simply a wonderfully written rondeau in every aspect.

Great work!~Dean

Thanks for your foot note, that helped me understand your poem better. I could be for children and adults as well. When it snowed you and the kids could throw snow balls. It is a well written Rondeau.

Hi Peter,

Lovely little poem celebrating the fun in the snow. Have you moved? My son still lives in Shaftesbury a little up the road from you in Poole and they've certainly had a 'bit' of the white, wet stuff.

I still live in Poole but have heard of Everleigh and love the name! Poet's license perhaps? Thanks for your kind words, Patrick. I sometimes detour through Shaftsbury "en route" to Longleat where my son lives. Peter

I have to make arrangements to visit my family again I think. If I do get over, it would be lovely to meet and take you out to tea (or something else) perhaps.

Thanks. Let me know. We could even go Dutch. I hesitated about importuning you, but we're of the same mind. Peter

A beautiful scene in the village of Everleigh.
Children playing in the snow.
I love the picture.
When I can picture the scene it is worth a million.
Great for children.
