I did not notice this contest, but I'm glad you entered the competition and were able to be so comprehensive in such a short form. You even included alliteration. Best wishes in the contest and happy Presidents Day- Joan

I'm always pleased when on of my entries gets one vote--it's such a numbers' game.

Is it not always the way? The greatest and kindest people get assassinated. look at the likes of Mahatma and Martin Luther King. I suppose Nelson Mandela was saved from the evil bullet. Well done, Tom.

This is an excellent entry into the Presidential 5-7-5 contest. The syllable count is perfect and the sense of the poem is in no way sacrificed by the limitations of the form. I liked this very much, and felt it was a concise yet accurate account of my favorite president. I wish you lots of votes for this one. It is excellent.

Concise and clear. One of my favorite presidents. Not sure why, but I've made several trips to DC and have never made it to his memorial. Been to so many others there, though.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes with the contest entry.
Blessings,
Marsha
