Forty years! Congratulations to them both. The form, your Rubiyat sonnet, gave the poem a feeling of majesty. Beginning with the Colorado Sun and ending with the glorious climb- they have made the summit.

I am sure they loved this amazing gift, Tom, it is a lovely poem. 40 years is a long time, so I can imagine you have been married at least 60 years. My parents had 64 years together, it is lovely when love lasts through all that life throws at you. A pleasure to read, my friend. :) SAndra

You are the same as me then, except mine is 25 years this year, had my husband, and father of my children, lived it would be 50 years now. xx

This is an excellent pronouncement on the constancy of true love and how it survives all the strife and struggles of that at times searing life--your brother and sister in law seemed to have had their fair share of this. Now in their older years they are showering their kids and grand-kids with their warm, pure and powerful love. Well done, Tom.

This is an excellent pronouncement on the constancy of true love and how it survives all the strife and struggles of that at times searing life--your brother and sister in law seemed to have had their fair share of this.
