Your love for the baby is clear in this piece and the smile is indeed infectious transporting you into a world of beauty, magic and laughter, as well as pulling your heart strings so it stretched for miles by baby's smile. Well done, Tom.

A-w-w-w-w... This was so well written, Tom, a perfectly composed Octogram. Baby Skylah Brooke is adorable, and this poem's happy, snappy tempo and narrative certainly does her justice.
Well done. :)

Photographs of children always make us smile;
Thank you for sharing the photograph of Skylah, penning a delightful dedication to the happiness your lovely grand-daughter brings to family and friends.
Children's smiles always make us smile, even if we are feeling unhappy.

That picture would put a smile on anyone's face and so does your poem:) There is nothing quite like a baby and their smile.

This was such a joy to read, the little girl is a precious child, and I know she's the light of your life...I enjoy writing poems about children, there is so much to see in their faces, so much we can learn...
The poem was perfect for the Octogram form, with such lovely and meaningful words... I sincerely enjoyed reading it..Thanks for sharing this with us, it was a pleasure...A 6 star poem indeed..at least for me..
Hugs,
Victoria

Thank you very much, Victoria. She is a gem. Glad you liked the form too. The star award was icing on the cake.
You're quite welcome, it was my pleasure...I'll have to try that form, its rather new to me...The stars were well deserved, both for the essence of the poem, and the form..
Hugs

This is such a heart warming poem. A smile for a baby is one of the great blessings we get from God, I love to hear babies laughter and to hear a child sing, I just melt.

While the excerpts I've seen from novels or short stories or contest entries have all been examples of good writing tonight, your poem "A Baby's Smile" improved my mood greatly, so I thank you for submitting it.
I work in a section of office building where there are no windows, only blue/gray partition walls separating cubicles, so please believe me when I say I've known the kind of blues mentioned in your poem. Working 40 hours a week keeping a state agency's mainframe updated, yep, that gets gloomy.
When I read your poem, that helped me forget the day in a positive manner.
Well done.

Very nicely written and I am a sucker for this sort of thing. I have a 3 year old daughter who gets away with everything with her smile which is enormous!
liked this a lot. Do more upbeat a bit more often!
