It does make one wonder, doesn't it? Poor frog.. or perhaps it doesn't bother the frog at all. I would like to think they don't mind being in a jar! I enjoyed your first stanza the most.. I like the form in which you wrote. Rondine is it? I enjoyed reading it, a pleasant change from the ordinary.

Great photo your grandson made of this frog that complements your poem so well. I think I vaguely remember a Rondine. It has rhyme and flow. Thanks for sharing this gem.

The frog in the jar, I like the poem, it is different and what is the frog thinking?
he would like to get out and swim and catch bug to eat, and be free.

I liked this one.
This is quite a fun little poem and I feel for the frog. How cruel we humans are!

Another different poetry form. My head hurts!

All the best

I'm on a roll--I just read a poem about worms in a jar (by Right Pics, I believe). Thanks for bringing up the next generation of photographers. I enjoyed your Rondine and its rhymes and repeats. Cheers- Joan

Thank you Brooke, yes, i think he has a photographer's eye and a poet's heart. Thanks for noting that.

You need to write that down and save it for him because some day when he is all grown he will cherish the fact that his grandfather had that to say about him when he was but a boy :-)

Hi. Treischel,
Looks like you are on quiet a run of 6 star reviews. I will add mine to the list.
I enjoyed this poem and the rhyme and the image are superior. I am not quite sure what a rondine form is but it has good rhythm and since you are the master of form I am sure it meets all requirements
Your friend,
Preston

It is always refreshing to read poems with different perspectives, this one being from a frog in a jar. I just hope for his sake that those caviar dreams come true and he is not destined for a biology class.

This is an interesting style that I am not familiar with.
The image is a perfect match for the subject choice and complements the wording well.
The presentation is perfect.
