I have to admit, your story held me rapt. The narrative unpacked just as the clues found in the attic slowly revealed the secret of your origins. A wonderful response to the prompt.

What a touching story, Finding who you birth parents had to be astounding to you since it was a guarded secret. I gave up a son for adoption when he was a new born,. I found him when he was 35 and now have a good relationship with his family, his daughters and the mother who raised him.
Blessings Patricia

Ah! this kinda brought tears to my eyes. this is a very well-written work. It's very believable and interesting as well. I loved the description of the mother. Especially about the part of hoarding of things.

This is a very interesting read about finding out you were adopted. I missed the first clue, in that your parents did not talk much about your childhood. I did know when you said that there were no resemblances between you and your mother. Any story about the Holocaust is always fascinating. It is so hard to imagine something as awful as that happening, but I know it did.

The fall-out as living witnesses near the end of their life span, but there were many stories and survival heroics that played in these dark times. Thank you.

I am learning more and more of the stories all the time. There were just some amazing and incredibly brave people that survived. I just watched Corrie Ten Boom's story most recently.

I was going to pass this by but your clever little description drew me in!

I am very glad it did to. This was so well written and unexpected, staring off innocently enough clearing out a life time of junk and accumulation to the unfolding of later events.

Very well told and engaging.

I loved this.

Wonderfully written! Professionally constructed and engrossing. It may seem strange to review the pure writing ability, but I thought it was important to extend my praises for going beyond just telling the story, for doing it with attention to the structure as well as the narrative.

The story itself, is a compelling blend of past and present. . .climaxing with a first step into the future. Heartbreaking, and yet, inspiring. Many of us have come face-to-face with the secrets our parents guarded. Often, when either dementia or old age weakened their firm grip on their commitment . I was drawn in from the start! The mystery about to be uncovered was tauntingly laid out. . .I had no choice but follow the bread crumbs.

Great Write!

This is really an awesome story, so unique and fresh. It gave the energy to continue reading even though I am so tired with ceaseless reviewing. The ending is an awakening, the discovery of the real identity of the main character is the best part of your story. It made me cry too, it was so engaging. Thanks for sharing.

This sounds like a true story, one of a kind that could be all to common from those times of conflict.

I know that the Polish were treated badly by the Nazis, after their betrayal by the British and French at the beginning of the war.

A good contender for the competition.

Many, many Poles were put to death, for reasons other than their faith and few words are written about the country's losses. Thank you for reading.
