Much as I am a happy ever after person presently I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I used to like sad endings but I have never really been a horror writer or reader. I guess I do not like to ushered into lethal scares- shivers and all!

Well done and thanks for sharing.

Your passion for horror is always very clear and scary good. Wherever my passion or talent may be hiding, with you I am in awe as I know horror is not something I can do! Another excellent example right here. Thank you for keeping us all creeped out. :-)

I thought horror writers were born without hearts? I always thought of them without fear of God. But I was very wrong because of you! You are one gift from heaven, my friend and I thank God meeting a great horror writer like you! God bless you always!

Very good my friend, I am not into horror stuff but yours is pretty good. Good word flow and rhyming make it easy to read and understand.

"I'm a horror writer," is a horror poem that grabs you from the Beginning and continue to hold on with each twist and turn. You take us to places we don't want to go but you words compel us to hang on for dear life. May God Bless you .

You are a wonderful horror writer, Dean. Yes, it is hard to get into the deep revesses of your mind to figure out what makes it so receptable to the genre. I think, dark forces talk to you at midnight and send you messages (smile). With me it's sonnets. To each their own.

A wonderful poem, great artistic presentation.

We are very happy to have you in our midst.

What a wonderful year end send off-standing up for your genre , horror writing. I never realized horror poems existed . Edger Allen Poe might have written one or two , but he kept his horror skills mostly in prose.
The poem is witty, charming with a deadly warning. A strange combination that only you,Dean , could pull off . The poem is fantastic & so is the presentation . I can't wait what other horrors you will bring on 2015. Maybe a horror story?

Nicely written! Honestly, it was a bit creepy, though that seems to have been the point, so well done there. It had great flow, rhythm, and rhyme, with two great graphics. Five stars for sure.

Love this, Dean! Good for you, defending your work as a writer of horror. And warning those who read your "nefarious" poems,
"Decide to tarry there too long,
where wrong is right, and right is wrong,
there'll be no one to pull you free -
it's then that you'll belong to me."

My favourite verse,
"Go deep into my head, you'll see (I might have written, "inside my head")
the remnants there that once were me,
replaced now by nefarious things,
with beady eyes and leathered wings."

I love the inner rhyme of "deliver shivers", but I have a suggestion for you.
You write,
"deliver shivers, raise your hair -
then usher in a lethal scare." ... you scare people with each and every verse. I'm thinking the one thing this poem needs is a terrible scream, right at the very end. So I suggest,
( deliver shivers, raid your dreams -
then usher in a lethal scream!)
I know you have used "scream" earlier, but you could write
"With each and every gasp you make"

You inspire me to make these suggestions, but the fact remains that I love your poem. It's quite witty, in a "nefarious" way. (thanks for pushing me to the dictionary!)
Love the picture at the end, too, with that eerie alien peering about. Excellent presentation, as usual.
Nicely penned! Thanks for sharing, my fine Poe poet.
cheers

Dean, not a difficult poem, but very well thought through with a resounding message; fiction attached more than personal, attributing to the characteristics of a horror writer.
Dramatic and well presented.
Bravo.
Have a great New Year.
