Dean, I really enjoyed this read. Nice and creepy with a perfect picture to go with it. I'm trying to do everything on classic FS. I hate the new and improved version. Except for the font changing mid way on this one, it looks great. Happy Holidays. Judy

Thanks, Judy. The italicized font is when his ghostly wife is speaking, so that's why it's there. If I hadn't done so, I would have received all sorts of hate mail for not doing so. One of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" sort of deals, I guess.

Thanks again for your review. ~Dean LOL.

Where in Hell did you get that ghastly picture? I remember your saying that readers favor poetry over prose. You've smartly adapted your genre into this form. Am I wrong or I do see Poe's influence here. Are you channeling him? :-)

I'm not sure if I am or not, Shari, but his influence has definitely had an impact on my own poetry, much like Stephen King has had a decided influence on my prose. I have studied Poe extensively for years; his intricacies, his meter and change-up switches in meter mid-stroke. So I'm quite certain some of him has rubbed off on me. I hope he would be proud. I'd hate for his ghost to come back and haunt me evermore, LOL...

Dean: This is your day of six and awards. Great writing.
I like the rich lady seeking revenge even in death, watching and waiting and in the pit he went. I like your art work. Maybe, he never got to spend her money, too soon. Very suspenseful story in a poem with good beat.

As I was writing my poem, we lost our power today. A squirrel got zapped while touching two wires on a transformer. He knocked out the power in two schools, a hospital and a community. Fried squirrel-ke-bob. There goes climbing the ladder for success idea for the squirrel and for your guy in the story you wrote.
Sweet sleep...and tea. flylikeaneagle

Ha-ha-ha, yeah, Nancy, that poor squirrel was lit up like a Christmas tree, I'll bet. Poor little fella.

I'm very happy you enjoyed the poem, and as always, i sincerely appreciate your outstanding support of my work.

    Sleep tight, my friend...

The internet connection is turtle slow, my friend. I don't know how to switch to Fanstory Classic. I always get lost whenever I try.

I think, the greediest thing a man can do is to kill someone for the sake of money. I once read, you can pass by... but you can never get away.

A blessed season to you and to the rest of your love ones. CHEERS!!! c", Mae

This was a great horror story poem. I suppose he deserved the fate as he had murdered her. I'd be running a thousand miles away if I saw that ghastly image. Well done, Dean.

I loved this poem... Revenge comes in many forms I guess and the best form of revenge is this one. Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading more of your work. Best wishes and Regards...Wayne

The presentation grabs you by the neck and freezes a chill down the spine. Your presentations are always a treat because they match the powerful words below them.

Revenge is always sweet and murder is always looking for resolution. The narrator's voice speaks in a quicken tone, getting his last words out before the real horror begins after death. Great work

That was beyond freaky. The story in the poem was sensational especially the twist that this hideous woman was returning from the dead to send her husband to hell for killing her. Well done very horrific and very thought provoking.

I thought I'd gotten away with it... Is a poem about a guy who married a woman old enough to be his mum. He was lured by her wealth. Eventually, he poisned her to death to seat over all she left behind. Her apparition then returned to torment him.
The poem flowed as if it was prose without any coding that would have hidden the message.
The text and background colors commbined well and remarkably enhanced the artistry in the poem, also, stirring a kind of mood.
It was nice reading it.
Brabazon.

Hah-ha, yeah, murder is never a good idea, Matoshka, but especially when it's your spouse, and never for personal gain. I think this guy found that out...whadda' you think, LOL?
