I remember the story well, Barbara ---
followed it through to the end - and
it was a happy ending, which left me
smiling.

I've just published Manderston after all these months - I've others that need editing - just haven't got round to
it - too much going on in life.

good luck, my friend.

I know you have a lot of books you are working on. I just had Savannah edited but haven't had time to go through it yet. Thank you for the kind review.

The book sounds interesting with interesting characters. Many I'm sure will identify with this all too common issue. Your notes state that the novel gives hope..that would prove to be a worthy project indeed.

You have a very powerful story here, Barbra. I'm sure it's one that will resonate with a lot of readers. It is heartening to see some public support rising now for battered women and your story I think will be popular with readers. Giddy

Wow - Great job with your book promo. I didn't know about this one. It looks like a good read and I will definitely look it up to read more. A very relevant topic for sure.

Oh dear Barbara your book sounds quite distressing with its subject of abusive relationships but, as you say, ,any of us know people in these type of relationships. Well done.

I think this was the first book of yours that I read here on Fanstory. It has an important message powerfully delivered with realistic characters. Anyone who has not read it should pick it up.

Thank you for the encouragement. I am thinking of attempting putting Savannah Love in a real book and not e-book. If you know of a publisher, please let me know.

Why don't you submit it to Pandamoon? There is an even on December 9 to give pitches directly to the acquisitions editor or publisher. I think it's called PitMad on twitter. You have to come up with a pitch that fits into 140 characters. Got to Pandamoon Publishing website there is information there. If you have questions I can find the answers for you.

Barbara,

If you read the threads for the contest, the rules say that the full 500 words has to be an excerpt directly from your book, so that rules out a review, etc. I think today is the deadline, but you should still have time to fix your entry before the judging begins, if you want to. Just thought I'd mention it, as I see that no one else has.

I guess. I misunderstood the rules. I just went with what I had read from other peoples' entries. Thank you.

I recall reading Evelyn Fort Stewart's wonderful book, "Behind Closed Doors" which chronicled her life and difficult marriage to an abusive husband, and the struggles she faced while trying to escape him.

Yours sounds compelling as well, Barbara, the way in which you've presented it so well. Although yours is a work of fiction, and "Behind Closed Doors" was biographical in nature, I'm certain the tale would be just as harrowing.

Very well done, and I wish you the very best of luck with your book.

Wish I had a 7, It would be yours. As an active minister of the gospel for a number of years, I have known of several cases like this mainly found in rule hill country, etc. I applaud your bravery for allowing the public to know this does go on somewhere in our nation. Muslims are worse. Because of this, I always counseled a couple before I performed the marriage ceremony. The book sounds rewarding. My blessings to you.

Wow. This is terrific. It's a lesson for me in how it's done, that's for sure. I've only been able to sneak over and get peeks at your book over the months and note how well it's written. This is a compelling invitation to get a hold of it and read! It certainly is a topic that affects nearly everyone directly or at least indirectly. Good luck in the contest and, of course, with the book too! mikey
