A moving story about your love for and good lovely gift to Marie. We need more people like that in the world today. It is such a pity that she died eventually

It was sad she dies of the cancer, but she had been a smoker for years and that took its toll on her lungs.

This is a feel-good story. The idea of the limo to the airport was a wonderful idea, and I bet she never forgot that ride. A very thoughtful thing to do. You did an excellent job of describing your friend's life and her battle with lung cancer. She deserved that limo ride. Well told and heart-warming. judi

Thank you judi. I had not thought of that event in a long time, but it came back to me just at the right time in the story of my life.

Excellent photo that complements your chapter very well.
It was very nice of you to help this terminal ill lady. Pity she had to die but this she enjoyed.

Hi Patricia, This is a very lovely but also sad story, It was a great thing to give pleasure to one who knows their time on this life is limited. I have a similar experience, you have prompted me to write it, later.

Well written, My Brother, my sister in law and my friend all died of lung cancer.

Well written
Mary

What a lovely gesture.
all had a delightful time, went many places and saw some of the sights in Las Cruces, that Marie had not seen.

The above could be more specific and perhaps note Marie's remarks about several so we could connect with her.

The Limo ride is the best surprise. It's one of the things on my bucket list. Marie went out in style.

Hi, Pat,

What a lovely thing to do. It's always so difficult to lose someone to cancer. I lost a dear friend in her 40's and it just sucked knowing she left so many things undone.

This is a lovely story.

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'... Jax (*.*)

Thanks Jax for the review. I was hard losing her to cancer especially since she never got to see her grandchildren who were born after her death.

God bless you and your husband when He sent down two angels to earth it was you guys.
What a wonderful story you shared today.
It's the true meaning of it's better to give then receive when it's done from the heart.
Thank you for sharing.

I don't know we were angels, but our heart to give has always been the desires of our hearts. Over the years, we gave thousands to missionaries. I don't know how much we gave as I did not keep track.. God I am sure is doing the accounting and writing it in our books.

God bless no matter the amount like you said it came from the heart,
    Until next time.

What a kind and generous thing to do for an old friend. A well wriiten chapter that held my interest and renewed my faith in the goodness of people. I'm sure that Maria was grateful for your kind gesture.

Thank you for the kind review. I know Marie enjoyed the gift. But, you know what? Wayne and I probably enjoyed it more by seeing the smiles on her face as we went to the airport.

A very touching thought and a very kind thing to do. Doing something so special for a friend. I am so sorry she died. I can see the big throne in your garden with this. So kind of you and Wayne to bring your friend out to your home. She must have really enjoyed herself. So sad to lose a really good close friend. Really enjoyed reading this part of your life. Genya

Thanks Genya, it was and is a special meemory for me. Marie and I spent many hours together when we lived in California. Marie stayed with me a couple of days after my first daughter was born. I still have the first gift she ever gave me, it is a plate with the 1959 calendar on it. 1959 was the year my hubby and I married. The plate graces the wall in my entry hall.

Beautiful story, it was nice that you got to spend the week with your friend, the story held my attention and although it was sad at the end, the knowledge of that limo ride left a good feeling to see the happiness that Marie must have felt. Nice memory thanks for sharing it.

Thank you Ethel for the nice review. Yes it was and is a pleasure to think back to the ride in the limmo and seeing the big smiles on the face of my very ill friend. I look forward to seeing her again in Heaven.
